DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The Regent of Deli Serdang, Asri Ludin Tambunan, officially sent off the Deli Serdang Regency contingent set to compete in the 2026 National Pesta Paduan Suara Gerejawi (Pesparawi) XIV in Manokwari, West Papua. The ceremonial send-off took place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the courtyard of the Deli Serdang Regency Office and was attended by regional officials, religious leaders, as well as team officials and contingent members.
The event reflects the local government's strong commitment to fostering religious arts and culture, while also defending the achievements previously earned at the national level."With great pride, I send you off to Manokwari. Bring home the best possible results—not only for Deli Serdang but also for our beloved province," he said.

"We must once again deliver a strong performance in 2026. Do not be afraid, focus on each category. You are the defending champion—do not let that become a mental burden," the Regent stated.
He also stressed that defending the title would be a significant challenge, but past experience should serve as a strong foundation for renewed success."I hope this team returns from Papua with a special gift for Deli Serdang's 80th anniversary. Stay healthy, stay motivated. You are not ordinary participants—you are ambassadors of our region and province," he said in closing.

The contingent will compete in two prestigious categories at the National Pesparawi XIV. The event will take place from June 18 to 28, 2026, and is divided into two sessions, with Deli Serdang participating in the second session.
According to Janso, all participants have undergone a rigorous selection and training process at both provincial and regional levels."We are bringing the best participants who have gone through selection and festival stages at the provincial level. We hope to achieve the best possible results and defend our success," he said.
At Pesparawi National XIII in 2022, Deli Serdang secured the national championship in the women's choir category. This achievement now serves as strong motivation for the team to once again deliver top performances.
The event was also attended by the Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Deli Serdang Sarifuddin Daulay, Head of the Pesparawi Development Institution Janji Hamonangan Sinambela, Chairman of PGID Deli Serdang Pdt. Hasudungan Manalu, as well as several regional organizational leaders.(IDNC)
