The seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, attended the match in person, sitting alongside North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution. The stadium was filled to capacity, with 25,750 spectators creating a vibrant and electric environment.

From the moment Jokowi arrived, he was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from fans. Throughout the match, he remained visibly engaged, applauding key moments and reacting to both attacking chances and goals from the stands.

High-Intensity Clash Between Indonesia and Vietnam

Late Penalty Decides the Game for "Garuda Muda"

Just when the match appeared to be heading toward a draw, Indonesia were awarded a late penalty in the closing stages. The spot-kick was calmly converted, sealing a 2–1 win for the "Garuda Muda."

The decisive goal sparked wild celebrations across the stadium, with emotional reactions also visible in the VIP stands where Jokowi and Bobby Nasution were seated.

After the final whistle, Jokowi, Iriana, and Bobby Nasution left the stadium appearing pleased with the result. Bobby briefly expressed his excitement, saying, "Luar biasa, ribak sude," before departing the venue.
