DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has sent a patient from Karo Regency, who is believed to be among those affected by the Free Nutritious Meals (Makan Bergizi Gratis/MBG) program, to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Jakarta for further treatment. The North Sumatra Provincial Government took the step to ensure that the patient receives a comprehensive examination and optimal medical care.
Bobby Nasution saw the patient off on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the VIP Lounge of Kualanamu International Airport in Deli Serdang. The patient traveled to Jakarta on a commercial flight accompanied by his parents and medical personnel.The medical team accompanied the patient to monitor his condition throughout the flight and ensure that medical personnel could respond immediately in the event of a health emergency during the journey.
The trip to Jakarta is part of the government's efforts to provide comprehensive healthcare for the patient. Before seeing the patient off, Bobby Nasution, together with Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, visited Amanda Hospital Berastagi and Efarina Etaham Hospital Berastagi.Two schoolgirls, Febiola and Agnesia, are receiving medical treatment at the two hospitals. The visits also reflected the government's concern for the health conditions and recovery processes of the two patients.
During the visit, Bobby Nasution personally encouraged the two schoolgirls. He even took time to eat with them and fed one of the patients. The gesture was intended as moral support for the patients, who are currently undergoing recovery.According to Bobby, the patient's psychological condition plays an important role in the recovery process. Therefore, the upcoming examination in Jakarta must also comprehensively assess the patient's mental state.
"The examination will not only focus on the illness but also on mental health. This is important to us because the child's psychological well-being must also be protected," Bobby said.He explained that the central government is also paying special attention to the patient's treatment. The decision to bring the patient to Jakarta was also made at the direction of Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka to ensure a more comprehensive examination and optimal treatment.
"The patient is being taken to Jakarta at the direction of the Vice President so that the treatment can be carried out more optimally," Bobby said.Bobby said the government wants to ensure that the patient receives healthcare tailored to his individual needs. Further examinations at RSCM will allow doctors to obtain a more comprehensive picture of the patient's health condition while determining the next steps in treatment.
Bobby said the government would monitor the patient's further medical needs based on the doctors' examination results. If the patient requires both physical treatment and psychological support, the government will ensure that those needs are properly addressed.
"If physical or psychological treatment is needed, we will provide it. The child's wishes must also be heard. The existing condition must not cause the child's psychological burden to increase further," he said.The statement highlights the government's focus on the patient's holistic recovery. The government is not only concerned with medical recovery but is also seeking to protect the child's psychological well-being so that additional pressure does not interfere with the recovery process.
The focus on mental health is particularly significant amid allegations of bullying and cyberbullying that have been associated with the patient's condition. The government must ensure that the issue is properly addressed through appropriate examinations and support.The patient's transfer to RSCM is also part of coordination between the regional and central governments in handling the case. Further examinations at the referral hospital in Jakarta are expected to provide clarity regarding the patient's health condition as well as the medical and psychological treatment required.
Bobby Nasution personally saw the patient off at Kualanamu International Airport. Earlier, he and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka had directly reviewed the conditions of patients at two hospitals in Berastagi.
During the visits, Bobby encouraged Febiola and Agnesia, who remain under medical treatment. The personal interaction was intended to motivate the two schoolgirls to continue their recovery with confidence.Several North Sumatra Provincial Government officials accompanied Bobby Nasution during the visit. They included North Sumatra Communication and Information Service Head Erwin Hotmansah Harahap, North Sumatra Health Service Head Faisal Hasrimy, and North Sumatra Education Service Head Alexander Sinulingga.
The North Sumatra Provincial Government will continue monitoring the patient's health condition and coordinating with the relevant authorities.
