BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM The Aceh Provincial Livestock and Animal Health Office has confirmed that the supply of slaughter animals for the Meugang tradition and Eid al-Adha 1447 H (2026) is sufficient, safe, and in healthy condition. The government also guarantees that all sacrificial animals available in local markets have undergone strict health inspections and comply with Islamic Sharia requirements.

drh. Safridhal, Head of the Aceh Livestock and Animal Health Office, said his team has carried out comprehensive data collection and field inspections on all livestock scheduled for sale during the Meugang period on May 25–26, 2026.

"Our teams were directly in the field to examine the animals. The available livestock meet the criteria for sacrificial animals: healthy, suitable, and Sharia-compliant. We want the public to shop with confidence and peace of mind," Safridhal said during a phone interview on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Strict Standards for Sacrificial Animals

Safridhal emphasized that only animals meeting specific requirements are eligible as sacrificial livestock. These include good health conditions, no physical defects, normal body weight, and the absence of injuries such as damaged ears or tails.

In addition, every animal must hold an official Animal Health Certificate (SKKH), issued by an authorized veterinarian or the relevant animal health authority.

"Physical appearance alone is not enough. What matters most is that the animals are healthy and officially certified," he added.
