MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM – Medan Vice Mayor H. Zakiyuddin Harahap took part in a sacrificial slaughter event held at Warkop Jurnalis Medan on Jalan Agus Salim on Thursday (May 28, 2026). The activity marked the observance of Eid al-Adha 1447 H, with the meat later distributed to journalists and local residents.
The sacrificial program was organized by the Forum Jurnalis Medan (FJM), which hosted this year's communal charity tradition. Zakiyuddin contributed one cow out of a total of three cattle and one goat prepared for the occasion.
He praised the initiative by journalists, describing it as a strong example of collaboration between the municipal government and the media community.

"This initiative led by journalists is extraordinary. That is why I decided to provide one cow as a form of support for media workers who have long reported on the activities of the city government," said Zakiyuddin Harahap.

The Vice Mayor encouraged similar programs to continue in the coming years, emphasizing the importance of maintaining traditions of generosity and social care.
"In principle, sacrifice is a form of sincere devotion and social responsibility. These values must continue to be preserved," he added.

Meat Distribution for Media and Residents
Event coordinator Budi Hermansyah stated that the meat was distributed not only to journalists but also to members of the public around Warkop Jurnalis Medan and Warkop Incek Budi (WIB). He stressed that the spirit of the event was rooted in community solidarity.
"It is not about the quantity of meat, but about the spirit of sharing and togetherness," he said.
