MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Medan Journalists Forum (FJM), which carries out its daily activities at Warkop Jurnalis on Jalan Agus Salim in Medan, held a sacrificial animal slaughter ceremony (Qurban) on Thursday, May 28, 2026. This year, the forum sacrificed a total of four animals, consisting of three cattle and one goat, all donated by generous contributors.
The religious observance marking Eid al-Adha 1447 H became a meaningful moment of gathering and solidarity among journalists affiliated with the Medan Journalists Forum.Donor Support Strengthens Community Activities
FJM Eid al-Adha coordinator and Qurban organizer, Budi Hermansyah, emphasized that the entire sacrificial activity was made possible through donor participation and support. He noted that the initiative has become an annual tradition within the forum."The Medan Journalists Forum has conducted Qurban activities several times thanks to the support of our donors. We hope that Eid al-Adha 1447 H will continue to strengthen our community and deepen relationships among journalists," said Budi Hermansyah.

Budi further highlighted that journalists, who are regularly engaged in field reporting, demonstrate unity and solidarity through social activities such as Qurban. According to him, the forum reflects a strong sense of cooperation regardless of background or position.
Meat Distribution Extends to Community and WorkersBudi also explained that the sacrificial meat was distributed not only to members of the journalists' forum but also to the Faedah Jiwa Maju cooperative members and residents living in the surrounding area.
"Eid al-Adha is a reflection of sincerity in sharing with others. This activity is a form of social care, not only for media professionals but also for the wider community," he said.
Community Spirit Reaches Sanitation Workers
Organizer Resi Erlangga added that the sacrificial meat was also distributed to Medan's sanitation workers, known as "Pasukan Melati," particularly those working along Jalan Sudirman and around Warkop Jurnalis Medan.He stressed that the annual Qurban activity is not merely a religious ritual, but also a reflection of solidarity and social cohesion among journalists.
