STRENGTHENING SYNERGY WITH ULAMA: Governor Muzakir Manaf meets religious scholars and community leaders at the Aceh Governor’s residence to reinforce cooperation for an Islamic Aceh.

BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Governor of Aceh, Muzakir Manaf, held a high-level meeting with prominent Ulama and community figures across the province to reinforce brotherhood and strengthen collaboration between religious scholars (Ulama) and government officials (Umara). The initiative aims to further develop Aceh based on Islamic values and principles.

The gathering took place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Anjong Mon Mata, the official residence of the Governor of Aceh, in a warm and family-like atmosphere.

Under the theme "Strengthening Brotherhood, Enhancing Synergy Between Ulama and Umara for an Islamic Aceh," the meeting brought together the Wali Nanggroe Aceh, members of the Aceh Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), respected Ulama, government officials, and heads of various institutions and banks in Aceh.

In his remarks, Muzakir Manaf expressed gratitude to the attending scholars for their presence, noting that the meeting had been long planned and finally realized.

"This meeting has been our long-standing intention. Alhamdulillah, it has finally been held today. We sincerely thank all Ulama and community leaders for their presence," the governor said.

He emphasized that the forum served as an important moment to strengthen unity and align strategic steps between the government and religious leaders in addressing regional challenges.

Facing Natural Disasters and Economic Pressure

The governor also highlighted several pressing issues in Aceh, including hydrometeorological disasters in multiple regions, economic pressures faced by the population, and challenges surrounding the Aceh Health Insurance (Jaminan Kesehatan Aceh/JKA) system.

He noted that limited regional budgets remain a major constraint in development efforts, a situation also experienced by other provinces in Indonesia.

"Despite limited financial resources and the responsibility of handling disasters, I remain committed and optimistic. With the prayers and support of the Ulama, we can achieve our goals," Muzakir Manaf stated.

The event concluded with a religious sermon delivered by Abuya Mawardi Wali, who urged the people of Aceh to maintain unity, strengthen Islamic brotherhood, and uphold religious values across the region.

The meeting was attended by several prominent Ulama, including Abon Arongan Tgk H. Sofyan Mahdi, Tgk H. Daud Hasbi, Abon Paloh Kaye Kunyet, and Tgk H. Muzakkir Abdullah (Waled Lapang). Representatives of the police, Forkopimda Aceh, the Deputy Mayor of Banda Aceh, the Regional Secretary of Aceh, and various agency heads were also present. (IDNC)
