NU Expected to Become Key Driver of Development in Deli Serdang

SYNERGY IN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: Deli Serdang Regent dr. H. Asri Ludin Tambunan emphasized the importance of synergy between Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and the regional government in achieving inclusive and sustainable development during the 9th PCNU Deli Serdang Conference at Cadika Hall, Lubuk Pakam, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Saturday, April 11, 2026.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Regent of Deli Serdang, Asri Ludin Tambunan, has expressed hope that Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) will play a central role as a driving force for regional development and make a tangible contribution to society.

He made the remarks while attending the 9th Conference (Konfercab IX) of the NU Branch Executive Board (PCNU) in Deli Serdang for the 2026–2031 term. The event was held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Cadika Hall in Lubuk Pakam, Deli Serdang, North Sumatra.

In his address, Bupati Asri Ludin Tambunan emphasized that the conference serves as an important organizational forum to determine NU's future direction and strategic priorities.

The Regent Calls for NU as Development Motor

"This conference is a routine organizational activity, but it carries strategic significance for NU's future direction. I hope NU can bring its own distinctive contribution to the development of Deli Serdang Regency," said Asri Ludin.

He further highlighted that NU, as a strategic partner of the regional government, plays an important role in promoting inclusive and sustainable development. He urged that the new leadership continue to strengthen cooperation with the government.

PCNU Highlights Evaluation and Organizational Strengthening

PCNU Deli Serdang, Chairman H. Timur Tumanggor, stated that the conference serves as a key moment to evaluate programs from the 2021–2026 term. He also called for stronger organizational solidarity among members.

He emphasized that the conference is not merely a formal gathering, but a crucial forum for evaluating achievements and setting future directions for the organization, stressing that upcoming programs must be implemented collectively.

Meanwhile, PWNU North Sumatra Chairman KH Marahalim Harahap underlined the strategic importance of the conference as the highest forum at the district level to strengthen organizational consolidation and formulate solution-oriented programs for the community. (IDNC)
