SUNGGAL DELEGATION WINS NINE AWARDS AT 48TH FSQ: The Sunggal District delegation secured nine awards at the 48th Festival of Islamic Arts and Qasidah at Deli Serdang Regency level in 2026, held in Hamparan Perak District.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Sunggal District achieved an impressive result at the 48th Festival of Islamic Arts and Qasidah (FSQ) at Deli Serdang Regency level in 2026. The Sunggal delegation returned with nine awards across several competition categories, including Religious Pop and the Bintang Vokalis (Star Vocalist) competitions for children, teenagers and adults.

These achievements highlight the considerable potential of the younger generation in Sunggal to develop religious music while preserving Islamic cultural heritage. The Sunggal District Administration expressed its appreciation and congratulations to all participants. Through their skills, creativity and impressive performances, they had successfully represented their home district.

The festival took place from 26 to 29 October 2026 at the sports ground in Paya Bakung Village, Hamparan Perak District. The event provided participants from various districts with an opportunity to demonstrate their talents and enthusiasm for Islamic arts and culture.

Achievements Reflect Cultural Harmony in Sunggal

Sunggal District Head Muhammad Guntur Endar Bumi Nasution, S.STP., expressed his pride in the delegation's achievements. He said the results reflected not only the individual abilities of the participants but also the strong sense of community and cultural harmony among Sunggal residents.

He emphasised that the interaction between Karo and Malay cultures represented a particular strength of the community. This cultural diversity enriched social life while helping to preserve the region's cultural heritage.

"This achievement proves that Sunggal District brings together the Karo and Malay ethnic communities, who work together to develop and preserve our regional culture. Keep being creative, successful and continue developing your individual abilities. May this achievement inspire you to accomplish even greater things in the future," said the Sunggal District Head.

Guntur also explained that winning first place would give successful participants further opportunities to develop their abilities at a higher level of competition. Winners in these categories would automatically qualify to represent Deli Serdang Regency at the provincial-level Festival of Islamic Arts and Qasidah in North Sumatra.

This opportunity is expected to encourage participants to improve the quality of their performances and introduce Sunggal's religious arts to a wider audience.

"This achievement is only the beginning. Do not be satisfied too soon. Keep training and improving your abilities. At the upcoming 49th FSQ, our target is to win the overall championship," the Sunggal District Secretary said confidently.

This ambition underlines the Sunggal District Administration's commitment to continuously promoting religious arts among the community. The administration hopes this year's achievements will inspire more young talents to develop their abilities and represent their district in future competitions.

Support from the administration and the wider community also plays an important role in ensuring the participants receive continued guidance and development opportunities. With more thorough preparations, the Sunggal delegation aims to improve on its previous results and compete for the overall title at the 49th FSQ.
