DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The race for the chairman of the DPC Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB) Deli Serdang is heating up. Among the several names in the running, two figures stand out as the strongest contenders: Julyadi Pulungan, S.Sos, and Purwaningrum. Both are seen as catalysts for new initiatives and a political revitalization of PKB in the region.
Julyadi Pulungan Represents the Youth Generation
Julyadi Pulungan, widely known as JP, is considered a key candidate. Representing Millennials and Generation Z, he could potentially boost PKB's voter base for the 2029 elections.

JP currently serves as chairman of Karang Taruna Deli Serdang and carries strong PKB heritage as the son of the late Haji Kasmir Pulungan, former chairman of DPC PKB Deli Serdang and leader of the Dewan Syuro DPW PKB North Sumatra.
His strategic position in youth organizations highlights his leadership experience and strengthens his support network, positioning him as a prominent face and driving force for DPC PKB Deli Serdang.
Purwaningrum Strengthens PKB's Grassroots Support
Purwaningrum, who has completed one term as a member of the DPRD Deli Serdang, has successfully consolidated PKB's voter base across five strategic districts: Pantai Labu, Beringin, Lubuk Pakam, Pagar Merbau, and Galang. This achievement marked a historic success as PKB won a seat in Electoral District 1 for the first time.

She also serves as chair of the Indonesian Traditional Sports Committee (KORMI) Deli Serdang for the 2025–2029 term. With her extensive network in Nahdliyin circles, she wields significant structural and cultural influence.
Party Base Pushes for a Dynamic Duo
Party members are urging JP and Purwaningrum to unite as a leadership team, combining field experience with a vast youth network.
JP responded calmly to the possibility, emphasizing that the final decision rests with the PKB central leadership (DPP).
"Six names are currently under review. We follow the party leadership's decisions. If the party entrusts us to lead PKB, we are ready. Withdrawal is not an option if DPP mandates it," JP said with a smile.
During the opening forum of the Muscab PKB Deli Serdang, Ashari Tambunan, chairman of DPW PKB North Sumatra, noted that two stages remain in the process, and all candidates have equal opportunities This leaves the door open for the formation of the JP-Purwaningrum duo favored by the grassroots.
With these two names in the spotlight, the internal contest of PKB Deli Serdang is becoming increasingly competitive. The public now awaits the DPP PKB's decision on whether a single candidate will be selected or a duo will be formed to represent PKB's renewed strength in the future. (IDNC)
