OFFICIAL HOSPITAL OPENING: Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan officially inaugurates RS Grand Medica in Tanjung Anom Village, Pancur Batu District. The hospital is expected to improve access to healthcare services and strengthen medical care through collaboration with Pancur Batu Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - The inauguration of RS Grand Medica in Tanjung Anom Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency, is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare services for local residents. The new hospital is expected to serve communities in Pancur Batu and Sunggal districts by complementing existing medical facilities and expanding healthcare coverage across the region.

Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan emphasized that private hospitals and government healthcare facilities should work hand in hand to improve the quality of healthcare services. Rather than competing, he said, both institutions should complement each other to ensure better public health outcomes.

He made the remarks during the official inauguration ceremony of RS Grand Medica in Tanjung Anom Village, Pancur Batu District, on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

According to the regent, Tanjung Anom is one of the most densely populated areas in Deli Serdang and directly borders Sunggal District. As the population continues to grow, the demand for fast, accessible, and high-quality healthcare services has also increased.

He expressed hope that RS Grand Medica, together with Pancur Batu Regional General Hospital (RSUD), would serve as a major healthcare center capable of meeting the medical needs of the community.

"I hope there will be no competition between private and public hospitals. Instead, we must build strong synergy to improve healthcare quality and ultimately increase the life expectancy of the people of Deli Serdang," he said.

Synergy to Improve Public Healthcare

Besides encouraging closer cooperation among healthcare institutions, Asri Ludin Tambunan also urged RS Grand Medica to actively support the Deli Serdang Regency Government's healthcare programs.

One of the regional government's priorities is strengthening healthcare data management. The regent requested that every medical service provided by the hospital be comprehensively documented and integrated into the reporting systems of both the Deli Serdang Regency Government and Indonesia's Ministry of Health.

He explained that reliable healthcare data serves as the foundation for evidence-based policymaking. Complete and accurate data enables the government to assess community health needs and develop effective strategies to improve healthcare services.

"We cannot allow healthcare services provided to Pancur Batu residents in this hospital to go unrecorded in the reporting system. Reliable data is the foundation of every healthcare policy," he said.

He added that cooperation between the government and private hospitals should extend beyond medical services to include active participation in regional healthcare programs aimed at creating a healthier and more productive society.

Hospital Expected to Support Regional Economic Growth

The regent also expressed optimism that RS Grand Medica would contribute to the economic development of Deli Serdang Regency.

According to him, the hospital's operations will generate new employment opportunities, particularly for local residents. Recruiting local workers represents a tangible contribution by the healthcare sector to regional economic growth.

He also encouraged the hospital's management to implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs on a long-term basis. These initiatives, he said, should directly benefit local communities through social activities and healthcare services.

The regent stressed that a hospital is not merely a healthcare institution but also an important driver of regional development through its social and economic contributions.

"This hospital is not only a place where people receive medical treatment. It is also an important part of regional development. When the community experiences its benefits, public trust will naturally grow," Asri Ludin Tambunan said.

RS Grand Medica Expands Specialist Healthcare Services

RS Grand Medica representative Zulkifli Adnan reaffirmed the hospital's commitment to continuously improving healthcare services in line with the needs of the community.

In the near future, the hospital plans to expand its specialist medical services by recruiting a cardiologist and introducing advanced cardiac diagnostic facilities. It also intends to increase inpatient capacity and add more hospital beds to accommodate the growing number of patients.

Zulkifli Adnan explained that the establishment of the hospital-including licensing procedures, cooperation with BPJS Kesehatan, and coordination with the Deli Serdang Regency Government-took approximately one and a half years before the hospital officially commenced operations.

Starting Saturday, August 1, 2026, residents will be able to register online for healthcare services. On the same day, RS Grand Medica will begin serving patients covered by the national health insurance program, BPJS Kesehatan, making healthcare services more accessible to the public.

"We hope RS Grand Medica will provide meaningful benefits to the community. Let us work with compassion, dedication, and professionalism so that our healthcare services consistently meet the highest standards of quality," he said.

Following the inauguration ceremony, Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan and the management of RS Grand Medica signed a commemorative plaque and officially cut the ceremonial ribbon, marking the hospital's official opening. With the inauguration of RS Grand Medica, Deli Serdang Regency now has an additional healthcare facility expected to strengthen medical services and improve the quality of life of its residents.
