DESTROYING EVIDENCE: Batam Correctional Facility (Lapas Batam) held an evidence destruction event in its courtyard to commemorate the 62nd Correctional Service Day in 2026.

BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Batam Prison carried out a large-scale joint raid, urine testing, and evidence destruction on Monday, April 6, 2026. The operation marked the 62nd anniversary of Hari Bakti Pemasyarakatan, under the theme "Concrete Correctional Work with Excellent Service," in collaboration with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), police, and Batam's National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

Synergy Among Law Enforcement Agencies

Batam Prison worked closely with local law enforcement, including the TNI, police, and BNN, to combat drug use and enhance security within the facility. The raids and evidence destruction were conducted simultaneously across all correctional units (UPT Pemasyarakatan) in Indonesia, demonstrating a nationwide commitment to safe and controlled prison environments.

Evidence Destruction and Urine Testing

The destruction of confiscated items accumulated throughout the year, combined with routine urine testing, reflects Batam Prison's dedication to institutional integrity. These efforts aim to create a safe, clean environment while ensuring excellent service and supervision for inmates.

Batam Prison Chief Yosafat Rizanto emphasized in his speech, "These measures are not mere ceremonial acts but concrete steps to keep Batam Prison free from prohibited items.
