MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has officially appointed Joshua Pangestu Simanjuntak, S.H., as Head of the Legal Advisory Subsection under the Civil and Administrative Division (Datun) at the Medan District Prosecutor's Office.
The appointment is stipulated in the Decree of the Head of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office Number: KEP-IV-28/L.2/Cp.3/02/2026 dated February 27, 2026.
Strategic Rotation to Boost Institutional Performance
The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office conducted a rotation of several structural officials as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional performance and career development within the organization.
This move aims to maintain organizational dynamism while enhancing professionalism and improving the quality of legal services provided to the public.
Prior to his new role, Joshua served as Head of Subsection II in the Intelligence Division at the Serdang Bedagai District Prosecutor's Office. In that capacity, he was responsible for data collection, legal risk analysis, and preventive measures through judicial intelligence functions.
His experience is expected to support his new responsibilities in the Civil and Administrative Division, which provides legal assistance, legal opinions, and other legal actions to government institutions, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and regionally owned enterprises (ROEs).

Strong Background and Professional Track Record
Joshua holds the rank of Ajun Jaksa (III/b) and is recognized for his solid professional track record. He possesses expertise in intelligence operations and a strong understanding of civil law, both of which are considered valuable assets in strengthening the Datun function in Medan.
He also comes from a family with a law enforcement background. Joshua is the son of retired Senior Commissioner Maringan Simanjuntak, S.H., M.H., who previously served as Police Chief of South Labuhanbatu.

In his statement, Joshua expressed his commitment to carrying out his duties with integrity and professionalism.

He also emphasized his commitment to transparency and accountability. "Every task is an opportunity to grow. I will work professionally, transparently, and accountably, while upholding the dignity of the prosecution institution," he added.
The Civil and Administrative Division plays a key role as the state's legal representative, providing both litigation and non-litigation services, including legal opinions, strategic project assistance, and efforts to safeguard state finances. (IDNC)
