DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM – The Chairperson of the TP PKK of Deli Serdang Regency, Jelita Asri Ludin Tambunan, introduced the Mobile IVA Test innovation to the monitoring delegation of the TP PKK of North Sumatra Province. The presentation took place during a monitoring visit for the pilot project of the 10 PKK programs focusing on IVA testing, held at the Lubuk Pakam District Hall on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
The initiative is a joint effort between the Deli Serdang Regency Government and TP PKK, designed to bring healthcare services closer to the community, particularly women of reproductive age.Mobile Services Reach Communities Directly
Jelita emphasized that the Mobile IVA Test is designed as a "mobile health service" equipped with specialized vehicles that travel directly to villages and urban neighborhoods. This approach is considered crucial in increasing cervical cancer screening coverage in a densely populated region such as Deli Serdang."The IVA test is not merely a competition program, but a concrete movement to improve women's health through early cancer detection," she stated.
She further explained that the IVA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) test is a simple, fast, and effective method for detecting precancerous lesions, allowing medical personnel to provide early intervention.
Integrated Healthcare for Families
The Mobile IVA Test does not only provide cervical cancer screening, but also offers additional health services, including ultrasound examinations for pregnant women, electrocardiogram (ECG) heart checks, and early detection services to identify stunting in children.Jelita also expressed hope that near 100 percent coverage in Lubuk Pakam District could serve as a strong foundation for Deli Serdang to achieve a top ranking at the provincial level.
"We truly hope that Deli Serdang, especially Lubuk Pakam, can be included in the top six of the provincial evaluation," she said.Local Government Expands Healthcare Access
Deli Serdang Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan stressed that the Mobile IVA Test was developed in response to the need for broader access to healthcare services. With a population of around 2.1 million people, relying solely on citizens visiting health centers is no longer sufficient."If we only wait, many people will be left unreached. That is why we go directly to them," he explained.
He also praised the contributions of PKK cadres, health workers, village and sub-district administrations, and all stakeholders involved in supporting the program."Successful public services cannot be achieved by the government alone. It requires collaboration and a strong community spirit," he added.

Representative of TP PKK North Sumatra Province, Irina Kemala, Head of Working Group IV for Family and Environmental Health, stated that the monitoring activity is part of the PKK Community Day celebrations and a continuation of previous supervision programs.
She emphasized that the monitoring process is not merely a formal event, but an effort to directly evaluate the implementation of the 10 PKK programs in the field and ensure sustainable community development in the targeted villages and districts. The event concluded with the submission of an activity report from TP PKK Deli Serdang Regency to TP PKK North Sumatra Province.
