The FGD focused on Governor Regulation No. 2 of 2026 concerning the JKA program. The forum served as an open platform for both government officials and student representatives to evaluate the effectiveness, accuracy, and implementation of the current policy framework.

Student and youth representatives emphasized that they were not calling for the regulation to be revoked. Instead, they urged a comprehensive reassessment to ensure the policy is more targeted and delivers greater social benefits for the public.

Legal Concerns Over Potential Revocation

The Chairman of the Indonesian Islamic Student Organization (PII) Aceh, Mohd Rendi Febriansyah, highlighted that differing opinions are a natural part of intellectual discourse. However, he also warned of potential legal consequences should the regulation be fully revoked.

"If this regulation is revoked, a legal vacuum could occur. Budget allocation and the technical implementation of the JKA program may no longer function properly," he stated.

He added that such impacts would not only affect specific groups but could also extend across all layers of society, from lower-income communities to higher economic classes.

Strengthening Cooperation for Health Policy Reform

Rendi reaffirmed students' commitment to maintaining a critical yet constructive role in monitoring public policy. The goal, he said, is to ensure that the JKA program is built on a strong legal foundation and delivers fair healthcare services to the people of Aceh.

The FGD is expected to mark the beginning of closer collaboration between the provincial government and student groups in strengthening the Jaminan Kesehatan Aceh program as a sustainable and equitable healthcare solution. (IDNC)
