OFFICIAL GEKRAFS NORTH SUMATRA MEETING: Governor Bobby Nasution receives the DPW Gekrafs North Sumatra at the Governor’s Office in Medan and calls for stronger collaboration in the creative economy sector.

MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, has called for stronger collaboration with the Regional Executive Board of the National Creative Economy Movement (DPW Gekrafs North Sumatra) to accelerate the development of the creative economy and elevate local entrepreneurs to a higher level.

The call was delivered during an official reception at the Governor's Office on Jalan Diponegoro No. 30, Medan, on Friday, April 17, 2026. The meeting focused on strategic synergy between the provincial government and Gekrafs to strengthen North Sumatra's creative sector.

Collaboration to Strengthen the Creative Economy

Bobby Nasution emphasized that developing the creative economy is a shared responsibility requiring cross-sector collaboration. He noted that organizations like Gekrafs play a vital role in supporting regional economic growth.

"The creative economy is a collective challenge. Organizations can significantly help the government drive the growth of this sector in North Sumatra," Bobby said.

He also encouraged Gekrafs to go beyond organizational networking by providing educational programs and research initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to the wider community.

"We hope there will be more educational programs or studies on the creative economy that have a real impact on society," he added.

Focus on SMEs and Local Products

Bobby further invited Gekrafs North Sumatra to actively participate in strengthening local products and small businesses. The goal is to empower small entrepreneurs and prepare them for sustainable growth.

"Let's work together to advance the development of products and entrepreneurs in North Sumatra. Small businesses must grow and become independent, and Gekrafs can play an important role in that process," he said.

Gekrafs Signals Full Support

Chairman of DPW Gekrafs North Sumatra, Fadhullah, expressed appreciation for the Governor's reception and confirmed the upcoming inauguration of the new board scheduled for April 20, 2026.

"We warmly invite the Governor to attend the ceremony. Gekrafs is ready to continue close collaboration with the provincial government and contribute constructively to the development of North Sumatra," he stated.
