Toba Regent Concludes Tagana-Rajawali Training with 149 Graduates

TOBA | INDATANEWS.COM ~ Effendi Sintong Panangian Napitupulu, the Regent of Toba, officially concluded the three-day basic training of the Taruna Siaga Bencana (Tagana) Rajawali. The program was held from Tuesday to Thursday, March 24–26, 2026, at the Dharmala Camping Ground on Pangkodian Beach, Kecamatan Tampahan, Kabupaten Toba, North Sumatra, Indonesia.

A total of 149 participants from various cities and regencies across North Sumatra successfully completed the training.

Building Resilient Disaster Responders

Pastor Roberto Sibarani, M.Th., chairman of the organizing committee, explained that the training aims to prepare resilient volunteers equipped to handle various disaster scenarios.

"Tagana are social volunteers who play a crucial role in disaster prevention, preparedness, and emergency management," Regent Effendi emphasized in his speech.

Successful Closing Ceremony

During the closing ceremony, Effendi Sintong Panangian Napitupulu praised the achievements of all participants, marking the completion of the 61st basic training of Tagana in 2026. He described the graduates as the "frontline" in providing assistance to affected communities.

"This task is physically and mentally challenging, but the skills you've learned will serve as valuable tools to save lives and help others," added Effendi.

Government Hopes for Active Volunteer Engagement

The Toba Regency government expects the graduates to actively contribute as well-trained, ready-to-deploy, and compassionate volunteers in disaster response efforts within their home regions. (IDNC)
