ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Aceh Tengah Police Resort (Polres Aceh Tengah) held a solemn ceremony commemorating the 80th Bhayangkara Day. The event served as a moment of reflection on the long journey of service undertaken by the Indonesian National Police (Polri), while reaffirming its commitment to strengthening cross-sector collaboration and enhancing social care for the community. This milestone highlights that the police are not solely focused on law enforcement, but also actively respond to the social needs of society.
The ceremony took place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at the auditorium of the Aceh Tengah Police Headquarters (Polres Aceh Tengah), under the theme "Polri for the Community." The event was conducted in a dignified atmosphere filled with solidarity, gratitude, and commitment, attended by regional leaders, community representatives, and various institutional stakeholders.
The event was attended by members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Aceh Tengah, including Deputy Regent Muchsin Hasan, M.S.P., Chairperson of the Aceh Tengah DPRK Fitriana Mugie, Public Prosecutor Hendri Yanto, S.H., M.H., Chair of the Takengon Syar'iyah Court Dr. Win Syuhada, Rector of IAIN Takengon Prof. Dr. Ridwan Nurdin, M.C.L., as well as senior representatives from the military, government institutions, and Bhayangkari.
In his remarks, Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., emphasized that the 80th Bhayangkara Day represents an important moment to further strengthen professionalism, integrity, and closeness to the community. He stressed that Polri must remain humane, responsive, and adaptable in addressing societal challenges.
The Deputy Regent also expressed appreciation for the police's role in maintaining security and regional stability, while urging continued transparent and community-oriented policing practices.

A touching highlight of the event was the traditional handover of the "tumpeng" cone-shaped rice dish from the Police Chief to the oldest and youngest police members. This tradition symbolizes respect, regeneration, and continuity within the Polri institution.
The ceremony also reflected a strong spirit of solidarity, emphasizing the importance of generational transition within the police force.

As part of the commemoration, two "livable housing" units were handed over to underprivileged residents. The beneficiaries were Sahidah from Lenga, Bies Subdistrict, and Maimunah from Lelabu, Bebesen Subdistrict. This initiative demonstrates the police's social responsibility beyond their core duties.
In addition, retirees and families of deceased police personnel were honored, along with various awards presented to units, personnel, healthcare staff, students, and members of the public. A range of competitions, including cleanliness contests, volleyball, Pencak Silat, shooting competitions, and Kamtibmas content creator awards, were also recognized.
The Satintelkam Unit of Polres Aceh Tengah received a special award for the best public service performance. Police Chief Taufiq stated that these recognitions are intended to serve as motivation to further enhance innovation, professionalism, and community-oriented services.
The event concluded with a collective prayer, a friendly gathering, and an entertainment program that further strengthened cooperation between the police, military, government, and society. (IDNC)
