MAULID NABI CELEBRATION HELD: Personnel of Polres Aceh Tengah attend the Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW 1448 H celebration on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Sanika Satyawada Hall in the police residential complex in Kuteni Reje Village, Lut Tawar District, Aceh Tengah. The event served as an opportunity to strengthen honesty, responsibility, justice, and compassion in carrying out duties and serving the community.

ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The celebration of Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW 1448 H at the Aceh Tengah Police (Polres Aceh Tengah) served as an important moment to strengthen the values of honesty, responsibility, justice, and compassion among police officers. These values are expected to guide officers in carrying out their duties, particularly in protecting, assisting, and serving the community.

Polres Aceh Tengah held the Maulid Nabi celebration under the theme, "Emulating the Character and Virtues of Prophet Muhammad SAW Through a Precise and Professional Police Force to Realize a Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia." The event was held on Friday morning, August 28, 2026, at the Sanika Satyawada Hall in the police residential complex in Kuteni Reje Village, Lut Tawar District, Aceh Tengah.

The event, which began at 8 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), was attended by personnel from Polres Aceh Tengah. Beyond commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW, the religious gathering also provided an opportunity for officers to reflect on themselves. They were encouraged to gain a deeper understanding of the Prophet's moral values and exemplary character and apply them in carrying out their official responsibilities.

Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., said the Maulid Nabi celebration should have a concrete meaning for every police officer in fulfilling their responsibilities as members of the Indonesian National Police.

According to Taufiq, the exemplary conduct of Prophet Muhammad SAW is closely related to the duties of police officers, particularly their responsibility to protect, assist, and serve the public.

"The moral values of Prophet Muhammad SAW must serve as our guiding principles, particularly in carrying out our duty to protect, assist, and serve the community," Taufiq said.

The Prophet's Virtues as a Guiding Principle

Taufiq urged all personnel at Polres Aceh Tengah not merely to participate in the Maulid Nabi celebration, but also to internalize the values it conveys and put them into practice in their daily lives.

He emphasized the importance of building character based on honesty and responsibility. Both values, he said, are essential to strengthening public trust in the police.

Taufiq also called on officers to increase their attention to the community, particularly people who need assistance. Such an attitude is consistent with a professional and people-oriented approach to policing.

The police chief further expressed his hope that every officer could become a professional, humane, and trustworthy representative of the police. Police work, therefore, should not focus solely on law enforcement, but should also incorporate human values and concern for society.

These values are becoming increasingly important amid growing public expectations for transparent, fair, and integrity-driven public services. The Maulid Nabi celebration thus also gave officers an opportunity to evaluate their attitudes and conduct in carrying out their duties.

Sermon Highlights Honesty and Responsibility

The message delivered by the Aceh Tengah police chief was further reinforced by a sermon from Ustaz H. Muhammad Nazar Usman, Lc., M.Ag. In his address, he explained various characteristics of Prophet Muhammad SAW that could serve as a reference for police officers.

Ustaz Muhammad Nazar said honesty, responsibility, patience, justice, and compassion were among the moral qualities exemplified by Prophet Muhammad SAW and remain highly relevant in contemporary social life.

In his view, these values are closely connected to the responsibilities of police officers as state officials. Police personnel need not only the technical and professional skills required to perform their duties, but also strong character and moral integrity.

He said the example set by Prophet Muhammad SAW must be reflected through concrete attitudes and actions. The application of these values should not be limited to the workplace, but should also be evident in family life and in officers' interactions with society.

Honesty, for example, serves as the foundation for building trust. Responsibility encourages people to carry out their duties conscientiously. Patience is needed when dealing with different challenges, while justice and compassion provide the basis for treating people properly and humanely.

By putting these values into practice, police officers are expected to carry out their duties with greater composure and provide services that are genuinely oriented toward the interests of the community.

Maulid Nabi as a Call for Greater Integrity

The Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW 1448 H celebration at Polres Aceh Tengah also highlighted the police institution's efforts to strengthen the character of its personnel through a religious approach.

The exemplary values of Prophet Muhammad SAW can serve as a moral foundation for officers in facing the various challenges of their duties. Police officers frequently interact directly with members of the public, situations that require professionalism, patience, fairness, and compassion.

The event was intended to further strengthen awareness within Polres Aceh Tengah that policing is not solely about maintaining security and enforcing the law. Police officers also have a responsibility to provide the community with a sense of security, assist those in need, and maintain public trust.

Among those attending the Maulid Nabi event were the chairwoman of the Bhayangkari branch of Polres Aceh Tengah, Ny. Vifa Taufiq; senior officials; heads of police sectors (Kapolsek) within the jurisdiction; officers; personnel of Polres Aceh Tengah; and Bhayangkari members.

The presence of all participants reflected the solidarity of the extended Polres Aceh Tengah family in taking part in the religious gathering, while also strengthening moral values that can support the performance of police duties.

The Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW 1448 H celebration therefore went beyond being a ceremonial occasion. Polres Aceh Tengah used it as an opportunity to strengthen the integrity of its personnel, improve the quality of public services, and further develop officers' sense of responsibility and concern for the community.

The spirit of following the example of Prophet Muhammad SAW is expected to continue to be reflected in the conduct of every police officer. This is intended to ensure that the presence of the police provides tangible benefits to the community while giving people a greater sense of safety. (IDNC)
