PIDIE | INDATANEWS.COM – The Pidie Police have intensified their social outreach by providing free cleft lip and palate surgeries for underprivileged children in Pidie Regency, Aceh.
Pidie Police Chief AKBP Jaka Mulyana, accompanied by Aceh cleft lip and palate coordinator Rahmad Maulizar, visited three affected families in Pidie District on Thursday, May 7, 2026. The visit was aimed at offering moral support and strengthening access to healthcare services for families facing financial hardship.During the visit, AKBP Jaka Mulyana also distributed food assistance packages to the families. The initiative forms part of the police department's social commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, particularly children living with cleft lip and palate conditions.

The visit also served as an initial meeting with patients who are scheduled to undergo free surgeries at Chik Ditiro Hospital from June 3–5, 2026.
The humanitarian medical program is part of the health initiatives commemorating the 80th Bhayangkara Day celebration organized by the Pidie Police.To implement the program, the Pidie Police are collaborating with international non-profit organization Smile Train, which provides experienced plastic surgeons and professional medical teams for the surgeries.
AKBP Jaka Mulyana stated that the initiative is not solely focused on medical treatment, but also on restoring confidence and hope among affected children."Beyond medical care, this initiative gives children the opportunity to grow healthier and develop greater self-confidence," Jaka Mulyana said.

Aceh cleft lip and palate coordinator Rahmad Maulizar praised the Pidie Police for their commitment to assisting low-income families through the free surgery program.
According to him, many families previously struggled to obtain proper treatment due to limited healthcare access and costly medical expenses.The Pidie Police are urging families with children or relatives affected by cleft lip and palate conditions to immediately register for the free surgery program. Registration is available through police stations across Pidie Regency.
