JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Idensos Team of the Jambi Regional Task Force of Densus 88 AT on Monday, August 17, 2026, involved several former terrorism convicts in the commemoration ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia in Jambi Province. The ceremony began at 6:40 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB) at Garuda Field in Jambi. Representatives of the Jambi Provincial Regional Leadership Coordination Forum, the Indonesian military and police, government agencies, central government institutions, and other stakeholders attended the event.
The Idensos Team of the Jambi Regional Task Force of Densus 88 AT involved former terrorism convicts from several regencies and cities across Jambi Province. They traveled to Jambi to take part in the independence ceremony alongside government representatives and members of the public.

Head of the Jambi Regional Task Force of Densus 88 AT, Police Chief Beri Diatra, S.I.K., M.H., C.PHR., CBA., CHRA., said the spirit of independence should serve as an impetus to strengthen national unity and solidarity.
"The fighting spirit of our heroes must motivate us to preserve national unity and solidarity. We also urge the entire community not to be easily influenced by beliefs or ideologies that contradict Pancasila and national values," he said.
He said the commemoration of independence provides an opportunity to reflect once again on the values embodied in the struggle of the nation's heroes while strengthening public awareness of the importance of preserving national unity. This spirit should be reflected in daily life by placing unity, tolerance, and a sense of belonging to the homeland at the forefront.
The involvement of former terrorism convicts in the independence ceremony also highlights the importance of creating opportunities to reinforce national values. Through joint activities, former terrorism convicts can participate in a national event while contributing to a spirit of unity within society.
The public, he added, must also increase its vigilance toward various beliefs and ideologies that contradict the values of Pancasila. Intolerant attitudes, excessive fanaticism, and the spread of narratives that have the potential to divide society must also be addressed collectively.
Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar, through Jambi Police Public Relations Head Police Commissioner Erlan Munaji, praised the joint efforts of Densus 88 AT, the regional government, and all stakeholders in strengthening national awareness.
"The 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia is not only a moment to remember the services of our heroes, but also an opportunity to strengthen our shared commitment to safeguarding the unity of the Republic of Indonesia. The participation of former terrorism convicts in this event is part of efforts to rebuild a spirit of national awareness, unity, and love for the homeland," the public relations chief said.
Police Commissioner Erlan said preventing intolerance, radicalism, and extremism requires the involvement of all elements of society. The government, military and police, religious leaders, community leaders, civil society organizations, and the public must continuously strengthen cooperation to maintain security and harmony.
"We urge the people of Jambi to work together to preserve tolerance, respect differences, and not be easily provoked by information or narratives that have the potential to divide society. Security and peace are a shared responsibility," he added.
Building a society that is resilient to intolerant, radical, and extremist ideologies also requires a sustainable approach. Therefore, strengthening national awareness and promoting the values of Pancasila are important components in preventing people from being easily influenced by narratives that contradict the principles of social and national life.
