The biometric registration initiative is part of Telkomsel's support for the Senyum Nyaman with Biometric (SEMANTIK) program, launched by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs. This program is based on Ministerial Regulation No. 7/2026.
The technology enhances customer identity verification while protecting the public from digital crimes such as scams and phishing attacks.
Saki H. Bramono, Vice President of Consumer Business Area Sumatra at Telkomsel, stated:
"We consistently support government programs as part of our commitment to serving customers effectively, including biometric registration at all GraPARI branches across Sumatra."
Convenient Registration Options for Customers
Customers can register biometrically either in person at GraPARI branches or independently online. In-person registration requires only a valid ID card (KTP), with staff assisting throughout the process.
For self-registration, customers can visit Telkomsel's official website at tsel.id/registrasibiometrik to complete the registration online.
Guaranteed Data Security
Telkomsel assures that all biometric data is securely stored and used solely for identity verification in compliance with current information security standards.
The technology adheres to regulations for fraud prevention and cybersecurity protection.
"With the introduction of biometric registration, Telkomsel customers can enjoy a fast, clear, and easy-to-follow registration process," Saki concluded. (IDNC)
