ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM- AKBP Teguh Siswoyo, S.H., S.I.K., M.H., has officially assumed office as the Chief of the Aceh Tengah Police. He succeeds AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H. The leadership transition at the Aceh Tengah Police was formally carried out on Monday evening, September 14, 2026, during a farewell and welcoming ceremony held in a warm and family-oriented atmosphere at the hall of the Aceh Tengah Regent's official residence.
The event was not merely a ceremony marking the change of leadership at the police force. Representatives of the community and the regional government also used the occasion to strengthen cooperation between the police and all community and government stakeholders jointly responsible for maintaining security and public order in Aceh Tengah Regency.The welcoming of AKBP Teguh Siswoyo was marked by Gayo traditions. Upon his arrival as the new Chief of the Aceh Tengah Police, Teguh was presented with an opoh ulen-ulen and took part in a traditional tepung tawar ceremony. The rituals symbolize respect and acceptance of the new police chief, who will carry out his duties among the Gayo community.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from various institutions and community groups, including the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), representatives of the Aceh Tengah Regency Government, religious and community leaders, personnel of the Aceh Tengah Police, district heads, and media representatives.AKBP Teguh therefore said he would continue and further strengthen the existing cooperation between the Aceh Tengah Police and the regional government, the Indonesian Military (TNI), religious and traditional leaders, community figures, and other members of the public.
According to Teguh, support from all stakeholders is an important component in ensuring that police duties can be carried out effectively. Good communication with the community can also strengthen public trust and help the police respond more quickly to various security and public-order issues.For his new assignment in Aceh Tengah, Teguh is drawing on the Gayo philosophy Musara Ate Sara Tuju. The philosophy will serve as a guiding principle in promoting a sense of community, communication, and closeness with the public.
The philosophy is one of the principles on which Teguh intends to build his work as Chief of the Aceh Tengah Police. He aims to establish closer relations with all segments of society so that the police, government, and community can work together in carrying out their respective responsibilities."I have been entrusted with the responsibility of serving as Chief of the Aceh Tengah Police. Therefore, I ask the personnel of the Aceh Tengah Police and Forkopimda for their support, prayers, and blessings," AKBP Teguh said.
A graduate of the Indonesian Police Academy (Akpol) Class of 2009, Teguh has operational experience in several regions across Indonesia. Before being appointed Chief of the Aceh Tengah Police, he was assigned to Pati, Central Java. His subsequent assignment took him to South Kalimantan, before he continued his service in Aceh from late 2024.These experiences form the foundation for Teguh's new assignment. He is now responsible for leading the Aceh Tengah Police while maintaining security and public order in a region characterized by a strong social and cultural identity.
AKBP Taufiq also apologized to all parties in case any actions, conduct, or statements during his tenure had been considered inappropriate.
After leaving his position as Chief of the Aceh Tengah Police, Taufiq will continue his duties as Chief of the Nagan Raya Police. He asked for prayers and support so that he could carry out his new responsibilities successfully."I hope the cooperation and support that I have received so far will also continue to be extended to the new Chief of the Aceh Tengah Police," he said.
The statement also reflects the hope that the relationships established among the Aceh Tengah Police, regional government, and community will continue despite the leadership transition.AKBP Taufiq also acknowledged the wide-ranging support he received during his service in Aceh Tengah. Aceh Tengah Deputy Regent Mucsin Hasan, MSP, described the farewell and welcoming ceremony as an important moment to bid farewell to a leader who had served the region while simultaneously welcoming the new police chief who will continue leading the Aceh Tengah Police.
Mucsin commended the commitment of AKBP Muhamad Taufiq throughout his tenure. At the same time, the regional government welcomed AKBP Teguh Siswoyo, who has now been entrusted with leading the Aceh Tengah Police.According to Mucsin, continued cooperation between the regional government and the police is crucial to ensuring that various government programs and public services are implemented properly. Institutional cooperation is also an important foundation for maintaining security and stability in Aceh Tengah.
