RECOGNITION AND APPRECIATION: Vice Admiral TNI Berkat Widjanarko, Commander of Kodaeral IV, presents an award to sailing athletes for their medal success at the 2026 National Sailing Championship Series I in Batam.

BATAM | INDATANEWS.COM - The Commander of the IV Regional Fleet Command (Dankodaeral IV), Vice Admiral TNI Berkat Widjanarko, S.E., M.Tr.Opsla., led a special awards ceremony on Monday, May 18, 2026, to honor sailing athletes of Kodaeral IV. The event was held at the Mako Kodaeral IV parade ground in Batam, recognizing outstanding achievements at the 2026 National Sailing Championship (Kejurnas) Series I.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Commander (Wadan) of Kodaeral IV, senior officials (PJU), and heads of work units (Kasatker). Also present were Marine Major General (Ret.) Djoko Pramono, a key supporter of sailing development in the Riau Islands Province, and Dance Wong Krean, Deputy Chair of the Riau Islands Sailing Association (PORLASI).

During the event, Vice Admiral Berkat Widjanarko personally presented awards to athletes from the Kodaeral IV Sailing Unit (Yanus Layar), who secured medals at the national competition held from May 8–10, 2026, in Ancol, Jakarta. Their achievements brought pride to both their unit and the Indonesian Navy.

Following the ceremony, Kodaeral IV leadership held a meeting with sailing development stakeholders from the Riau Islands, along with coaches and medal-winning athletes, at the Mako Kodaeral IV conference room.

The discussion took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere, focusing on strengthening collaboration to further develop sailing sports in the region.

Kodaeral IV expressed hope that this initiative will enhance athlete performance and produce more talented sailors capable of representing Indonesia at the national level. (IDNC)
