Aceh Tengah Police Ensure Safe Easter Services 2026

ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Aceh Tengah Police (Polres Aceh Tengah), in collaboration with local police stations (Polsek), monitored Easter and Good Friday services in two churches across Aceh Tengah district, Aceh, Indonesia, on Sunday, April 5, 2026. All events proceeded smoothly, safely, and in an orderly manner.

Focus on Two Key Churches

Security operations centered on the Huria Kristen Batak Protestant (HKBP) Church in Blang Kolak II Village, Bebesen Subdistrict, and St. Peter's Catholic Church in Asir-Asir Village, Lut Tawar Subdistrict.

At HKBP Blang Kolak II, around 250 congregants attended the major Easter service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., under the theme "Jesus Rose on the Third Day", led by Pastor Billy Lumbantobing.

Meanwhile, St. Peter's Catholic Church held its service at 9:00 a.m., attended by approximately 40 worshippers and led by Pastor Agustinus Padang OCD.

Police Guarantee Safety and Order

Aceh Tengah Police Chief, AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, stated through Public Relations Head, Iptu Rasimin, that Polres and Polsek deployed personnel to ensure all services ran smoothly.

"This operation reflects our duty to provide the Christian community with security during Easter celebrations," said Iptu Rasimin.

He emphasized that the security measures are part of the police's commitment to protect religious freedom and maintain public order. The situation during all services was reported as calm, orderly, and incident-free.
