MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM ~ A spirited Al-Quds Day rally went ahead in Medan, Indonesia, on the last Friday of Ramadan, March 13, 2026, despite pouring rain.
The event, held at Bundaran SIB, drew a diverse crowd of academics, activists, students, and members of the public, demonstrating strong support for Palestinian solidarity.
Jam'an Lubis Condemns Israeli and U.S. Actions
Jam'an Lubis, coordinator of the Al-Quds Day rally, strongly condemned Zionist and American actions, calling them acts of genocide against the Palestinian people. He specifically criticized the recent attacks on Shajare Tayyiba Girls' School in Minab, which claimed the lives of over 160 children.
Call for Indonesia to Withdraw from the Board of Piece
Jam'an urged Indonesia to withdraw from the Board of Piece (BoP), initiated by the U.S. and Israel, warning it could undermine Indonesia's support for Palestinian independence."We demand that Indonesia withdraw from the Board of Piece (BoP), especially if it means paying up to 17 trillion rupiah, which would likely be used to fund military equipment to oppress the Palestinian people," he stated.

The Al-Quds Day rally is part of a global movement expressing solidarity with Palestinians and opposing Israeli occupation. Similar events were held in Iran, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Yemen, Lebanon, Turkey, and Indonesia, reflecting widespread international concern.
The global movement has gained momentum amid the recent escalation in Gaza, where over 60,000 people have been killed and 107,000 injured, prompting millions worldwide to demand justice and an end to the occupation. (IDNC)REPORTER: Darmailawati
