Iran Poised to Navigate Future Without Ali Khamenei

However, according to Ustad Iqbal, Iran is well-prepared to face the future without Khamenei, thanks to its solid system of government and capable ulama.

Ustad Iqbal explained that the Majelis Khubraghan, a council of esteemed ulama, will select a new Rahbar to replace Khamenei.

Several prominent figures have been mentioned as potential successors, including Muhsin Ejai, Alireza A'rafi, Muhsin Araki, Ahmad Khatami, Shadiq Larijani, and Husain Bushehri.

"Iran has a wealth of talented ulama with high credibility," said Candiki Repantu, a researcher on social and religious history.

A System of Governance

Ustad Iqbal emphasized that Iran's system of government, based on the concept of Wilyatul Faqih, ensures the continuity of leadership.

"Iran is not focused on individuals, but on the system," he said. The Majelis Khubraghan will carefully select Khamenei's successor, considering factors such as knowledge, personality, managerial skills, and leadership abilities.

Khamenei's martyrdom will have an impact on Shia Muslims worldwide, including Indonesia. However, it will not weaken the Iranian government.

"Iran has many capable ulama who can replace Khamenei," said Ustad Iqbal.
