ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Aceh Tengah Police carried out humanitarian patrols on Saturday night, August 1, 2026, to prevent illegal street racing while ensuring public safety, traffic order, and smooth traffic flow (Kamseltibcarlantas) in several vulnerable areas across Takengon City.
The patrol operation was conducted from 8:30 p.m. WIB until midnight and focused on several locations identified as areas requiring increased monitoring by officers. These included Jalan Lebe Kader, Jalan Sengeda, the old Takengon Terminal area, Inpres Market, the Lintang gas station area, and Jalan Desa Mongal in Bebesen District.The officers emphasized that maintaining traffic safety requires collective awareness and discipline from all road users. Through direct communication and education, police sought to build understanding among motorists regarding the importance of responsible driving behavior.
During the operation, officers did not issue fines to the riders. Instead, they applied an educational approach by requiring vehicle owners to replace non-standard exhaust systems with factory-standard equipment at the Aceh Tengah Police Headquarters (Mako).
This measure is part of the police efforts to increase public awareness and strengthen discipline among road users. Authorities hope the educational approach will provide riders with a better understanding of traffic safety and the consequences of using vehicles that do not comply with regulations.According to him, the activity was also intended to prevent potential traffic accidents and disturbances to public security and order that may arise from illegal street racing activities or the use of excessively loud exhaust systems.
"Through education and guidance, we hope the community will become increasingly disciplined in traffic, creating a safe, orderly, and comfortable environment for all road users," he said.AKP Rerit added that the presence of officers in the field was not solely focused on enforcing regulations but also on providing understanding to the public so that safe and comfortable traffic conditions could be created together.
The Aceh Tengah Traffic Police confirmed that similar patrols would continue to be conducted regularly, especially during periods and in locations considered to have a higher risk of traffic violations or public disturbances.
Through these humanitarian patrols, the police called on the entire Aceh Tengah community to actively contribute to road safety, obey traffic regulations, prioritize the safety of all road users, and work together to create a more comfortable traffic environment.
