JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - The Regional Police of Jambi (Polda Jambi) have released the results of their investigations into various criminal cases during the first half of 2026. The findings were presented at a press conference held in the lobby of the Jambi Police Headquarters (Mapolda Jambi) on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The event underscored the police's commitment to transparency, as well as their ongoing efforts to maintain security and public order across Jambi Province.
The press briefing was led by the Head of Public Relations of Polda Jambi, Senior Commissioner of Police (Kombes Pol.) Erlan Munaji, and attended by several senior officials, including the Director of Special Criminal Investigation, Kombes Pol. Taufik Nurmandia; the Director of General Criminal Investigation, Kombes Pol. Jimmy Christian Samma; and the Director of Narcotics Investigation, Kombes Pol. Dewa Made Palguna. Each director presented their respective division's operational outcomes covering law enforcement activities from January to June 2026.
Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar, the Chief of Jambi Regional Police, stated through the Public Relations Division that the success in resolving cases was the result of strong coordination between Polda Jambi and district police units across the province. This synergy, he noted, plays a crucial role in maintaining regional stability.
"From January to June 2026, a total of 492 C3 crime reports were recorded. Of these, 169 cases were successfully resolved, representing approximately 34 percent. A total of 260 suspects were arrested. Evidence collected includes 448 items such as vehicles, stolen goods, and documents. The estimated financial loss exceeds 14.4 billion rupiah," said Kombes Erlan Munaji. These figures indicate that street-level crime remains one of the most persistent security challenges in Jambi, despite ongoing enforcement efforts.
The Special Criminal Directorate also reported significant progress in tackling the misuse of subsidized fuel. Authorities uncovered 34 cases, arrested 49 suspects, and seized substantial evidence, including more than 76,000 liters of diesel, 10,000 liters of gasoline (Pertalite), and 25,000 liters of kerosene, along with multiple vehicles and cash assets.
In parallel, police intensified their operations against illegal mining activities, locally known as Pertambangan Tanpa Izin (PETI). During the first half of 2026, 23 cases were handled, resulting in the arrest of 50 suspects. Confiscated items include 2.57 kilograms of gold, ten excavators, dredging machines (dompeng), operational vehicles, and various mining equipment.
Authorities emphasized that these measures are part of broader efforts to protect the environment and reduce significant state losses caused by illegal mining operations.
The Narcotics Investigation Directorate, in coordination with regional police units, recorded substantial achievements in drug enforcement. A total of 591 criminal reports were processed, with 451 cases successfully resolved. Law enforcement arrested 931 suspects, consisting of 875 men and 56 women.
According to officials, seized evidence includes 31.9 kilograms of methamphetamine, 43.9 kilograms of marijuana, 96,448 ecstasy tablets, and 6,421.3 milliliters of etomidate. These seizures are estimated to have prevented drug abuse among approximately 438,044 individuals, with the total value of confiscated narcotics reaching around 62.1 billion rupiah. The data highlights the continued scale and organization of drug trafficking networks operating within the region.
Police further noted that criminal operations are becoming increasingly sophisticated, with perpetrators operating across regional and provincial networks. Modern communication technologies are being widely used, including drop-point systems in drug trafficking, QR code abuse in subsidized fuel distribution, and heavy machinery deployment in illegal mining activities.
This evolution has compelled law enforcement agencies to continuously adapt their strategies in order to keep pace with the increasing sophistication of criminal networks."The resolution of these cases in the first half of 2026 is proof of our commitment to security. We will continue to act firmly, professionally, and sustainably against all forms of crime," he stated.
He further urged the public to remain vigilant and actively support law enforcement efforts by reporting any suspicious activity."There is no place for crime in Jambi Province. Anyone disrupting public order will face firm legal action. We will dismantle criminal networks and strengthen preventive measures so that the public can live safely and securely. The public is also encouraged to report information via the police emergency hotline 110," Kombes Erlan added. (IDNC)
