Upon arrival, police officers first secured the scene before assisting firefighters in battling the blaze. They also managed the movement of people in the surrounding area to ensure that firefighting operations proceeded smoothly and that emergency personnel could carry out their duties without obstruction.
"Officers immediately secured the scene, assisted with firefighting operations, directed people in the surrounding area, and ensured that access roads remained clear for fire trucks," Dasril said.According to Dasril, the police response went beyond simply helping to extinguish the fire. Ensuring public safety and maintaining unobstructed access for fire trucks to reach the source of the blaze were equally important priorities.
Joint response teams worked alongside firefighters and local residents to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to other buildings in the area. Through their coordinated efforts, the spread of the fire was eventually brought to a halt.
Based on preliminary accounts from those affected and several witnesses, the fire is believed to have started in the upper section of Sri Bulen's house. At the time, she had just finished performing the Isha prayer. Shortly afterward, she noticed flames rising from the upper part of her house.
Upon discovering the fire, Sri Bulen immediately left the house to save herself while calling on her neighbors for help. However, the flames spread quickly and reached the nearby house belonging to Riduan. In response, residents, firefighters, and police officers immediately began working together to extinguish the blaze. Their primary objective was to prevent the fire from spreading further, as two residential buildings had already been affected.
After intensive joint firefighting efforts, the emergency teams eventually managed to bring the fire under control. The situation in the surrounding area was subsequently declared safe. No fatalities were reported.
Following the firefighting operations, Aceh Tengah police officers secured the scene. Police lines were installed around the area to protect the site and facilitate further investigations.
In addition to securing the location, officers documented the conditions at the scene and gathered preliminary information from the homeowners and witnesses who had seen how the fire started. These measures are intended to help establish the exact cause of the blaze, which damaged the upper floors of both houses.According to preliminary accounts from the homeowners, electrical wires in the wall area of the upper floor allegedly produced sparks or flames. This information is being treated as an initial line of inquiry as officers work to determine the actual source of the fire.
Aceh Tengah Police emphasized that further investigative efforts would focus on collecting witness statements and conducting a thorough examination of the scene. The suspected cause of the fire, therefore, can only be confirmed once the investigation has been completed.Meanwhile, the material losses caused by the fire are estimated at approximately Rp200 million. The estimated amount reflects the damage to the upper floors of the houses belonging to Sri Bulen and Riduan, both of which were affected by the flames.
Police urged residents to remain vigilant against potential fire hazards, particularly those involving household electrical installations. Regular inspections of electrical wiring and connections are important to reduce the risk of short circuits and fires and to ensure the safety of residents.
