MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The selection process for members of the North Sumatra Information Commission (KIP) for the 2026–2030 term has entered the interview stage, with Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution emphasizing the importance of objectivity, professionalism, and the absence of external interference.
The governor's directive was conveyed by Muhamad Suib, Assistant for General Administration at the North Sumatra Provincial Secretariat, who also serves as a member of the selection committee. The statement was delivered at the North Sumatra Communication and Information Agency office on Jalan HM Said, Medan, on Wednesday (June 17, 2026).
Suib said the governor has consistently instructed the selection committee to ensure a transparent process that produces credible and trustworthy KIP commissioners.
"The governor's instruction is clear: the entire process must be carried out diligently, strictly, and without any form of interference," Suib stated.
"The participants are thoroughly examined regarding their motivation, vision, integrity, track record, and their perspective on governance and national values," Suib added.

Selection committee chair Hatta Ridho explained that the evaluation process is comprehensive and integrated.
"The results of the interviews will be combined with the CAT and psychological test scores for final assessment," he said.
Hatta Ridho emphasized that the final decision no longer rests with the selection committee or the governor, but fully with the DPRD, which will conduct a fit-and-proper test to determine the final five candidates.
"The presentation will not be held before us or the governor, but before the DPRD, which will make the final selection from 15 to 5 candidates," he explained. (IDNC)
