HONORABLE MEMORIAL CEREMONY: The wreath-laying and flower-scattering event by Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah Police at the Reje Bukit Heroes’ Cemetery, Aceh Tengah, on June 16, 2026, as rain intensified the solemn atmosphere.

ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Police of Aceh Tengah and Bener Meriah Regencies held a solemn wreath-laying and flower-scattering ceremony at the Heroes' Cemetery (Taman Makam Pahlawan/TMP) in Kampung Reje Bukit, Bebesen District, Aceh Tengah, on Tuesday morning (June 16, 2026). The event marked the 80th anniversary of Bhayangkara Day 2026.

Beginning at 08:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time (WIB), the ceremony unfolded in an atmosphere of deep reverence and national solidarity, reflecting the Indonesian National Police's respect for fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the unity of the Republic of Indonesia.

Solemn Tribute Amid Heavy Rain

Despite persistent rainfall, participants remained steadfast in carrying out the ceremony with dignity and discipline. The Police Chiefs of Aceh Tengah, AKBP Muhammad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., and Bener Meriah, AKBP Aris Cai Dwi Susanto, S.I.K., M.I.K., stood throughout the proceedings, embodying unwavering respect and commitment. The weather added emotional depth to the memorial, underscoring the sincerity of the tribute.

Leadership and Formal Ceremony Protocol

The ceremony was led by AKBP Muhammad Taufiq as the chief officiating officer. The ceremonial proceedings were coordinated by AKP Junaidi, S.H., while troop formations were commanded by Ipda Andi Nova, S.H. The entire event followed strict police protocol, proceeding in an orderly and disciplined manner.

Wreath-Laying and Prayers for the Fallen

The event began with honors to the fallen heroes, followed by a moment of silence. A wreath was then laid by the Aceh Tengah Police Chief as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance.

A collective prayer followed, seeking peace for the departed souls and reaffirming national unity. The ceremony concluded with the traditional scattering of flower petals over the graves as a final gesture of respect.

Strong Inter-Agency Solidarity

The commemoration also highlighted close cooperation between the Aceh Tengah Police (Polres Aceh Tengah) and Bener Meriah Police (Polres Bener Meriah), demonstrating shared values of loyalty, discipline, and national awareness across the Gayo Highlands region.

Senior officials including Wakapolres Aceh Tengah Samsir, S.H., Wakapolres Bener Meriah Kompol Dr. Syabirin, S.H., M.Si., other high-ranking officers, and members of Bhayangkari also attended the ceremony.

Reflection on the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary

Bhayangkara Day 2026 in Aceh Tengah was observed not merely as a formal commemoration, but as a moment of reflection on sacrifice, duty, and national responsibility.

The rain-soaked ceremony became a powerful symbol of resilience and devotion, reinforcing the enduring spirit of the nation's heroes as a moral foundation for police service to the state and society.
