MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Mayor of Medan, Rico Waas, has welcomed innovative proposals from the Association of Water Entrepreneurs (PERANTARA) aimed at improving access to clean and safe drinking water across the city. Rico Waas emphasized that access to clean water is a fundamental pillar in enhancing quality of life and safeguarding public health. He noted that reliable drinking water services could significantly reduce the risk of waterborne diseases.
"Please present the concept to Bappeda and the relevant technical offices so it can be further evaluated and potential pilot projects can be considered," Rico Waas stated.
The meeting was attended by several heads of municipal agencies, including departments responsible for water resources, infrastructure and construction, housing and spatial planning, and health services. Their presence highlighted the seriousness of the city government in evaluating new collaborative models.
PERANTARA is seen as a potential partner, particularly due to its experience in water treatment and management systems.
