AWARDED: Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan receives the Taxpayer Awards from DJP North Sumatra I in recognition of fiscal discipline and administrative cooperation.

MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM Regent of Deli Serdang, Asri Ludin Tambunan, received the Taxpayer Awards from the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) through the Regional Office of DJP North Sumatra I on Thursday (07/05/2026) at the State Finance Building in Medan.

The award recognizes the local government's contribution, coordination, and consistent efforts in optimizing state revenue collection and strengthening tax compliance across its administrative units.

The award was formally presented by Belis Siswanto, Head of DJP Regional Office North Sumatra I, who praised the solid cooperation between the Deli Serdang regional government and tax authorities.

Five regional working units (Organisasi Perangkat Daerah/OPD) under the Deli Serdang administration were also honored by the Lubuk Pakam Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama Lubuk Pakam) for their significant contributions to 2025 tax revenues. These included the Inspectorate, the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BKAD), the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, the Health Office, and the Education Office.

Siswanto emphasized that strong coordination and timely tax reporting between local institutions and tax authorities are essential to ensuring transparency and efficiency in tax collection. He also highlighted the importance of continuous communication to address administrative challenges and prevent documentation issues in the future.

Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan stated that the award reflects the integrity and professionalism of the entire regional administration.

"All involved agencies have fulfilled their tax obligations accurately, on time, and with full responsibility. This award is a reflection of that collective integrity," he said.

The Regent further stressed that taxation plays a vital role in both national and regional development. Tax revenues, he noted, are directly channeled into infrastructure development, education, healthcare services, and social programs.

He also expressed appreciation to DJP North Sumatra I for its continued support in building a transparent and accountable governance system.

"We support all tax policies because a strong tax base strengthens both the state and the region," Asri Ludin said.

Strengthening PAD and Improving OPD Performance

Asri Ludin urged all regional agencies that have not yet received recognition to improve their tax administration performance to ensure more balanced institutional achievement.

The Deli Serdang government is also enhancing cooperation with tax authorities through services at the Public Service Mall (MPP) and training programs for tax enforcement officers. These initiatives are expected to increase local revenue, particularly from Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2).

"We must continue innovating to strengthen regional revenue without burdening the public," he added. (IDNC)
