20 LOCAL DRAFT REGULATIONS APPROVED: The Government and Regional Parliament of Deli Serdang approve 20 draft local regulations for the 2026 program, including the planned division of Percut Sei Tuan and Sunggal Districts.

DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM ~ The Government of Deli Serdang Regency and the Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) have officially included 20 draft local regulations (Ranperda) in the 2026 Regional Regulation Formation Program (Propemperda). The decision was confirmed during a DPRD plenary session held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

20 Local Draft Regulations Approved for 2026 Program

Out of the 20 proposed draft regulations, 12 were initiated by the regional government, five originated from DPRD initiatives, while the remaining three are categorized as cumulative open legal drafts. All proposals will be discussed throughout 2026 as part of the regional legislative agenda.

Administrative Division of Percut Sei Tuan and Sunggal Prioritized

A key focus of the program is the planned administrative restructuring of Percut Sei Tuan District and the reorganization of Sunggal District, including the proposed formation of a new sub-district, Sunggal Selatan. These measures are driven by population growth, increasing mobility, and rising demands for public services.

A Push for Better Services and Public Participation

The regional government stated that the restructuring is expected to improve development planning tailored to local needs, while also optimizing the distribution of personnel and budget allocation, particularly in health, education, infrastructure, and civil administration sectors.

It is also expected to strengthen public participation by bringing government services closer to communities and increasing citizen involvement in development processes.

"The division of Percut Sei Tuan and Sunggal is an important step toward building a healthy, educated, prosperous, religious, and sustainable Deli Serdang," said Lom Lom Suwondo.

The government hopes all legislative programs for 2026 can be implemented on schedule to support the region's long-term development vision. (IDNC)
