This commitment is part of the regional government's efforts to provide faster, easier, and more responsive services that meet the needs of the community.
The Deputy Regent of Deli Serdang, Lom Lom Suwondo, made the statement after attending the opening meeting for the 2026 socialization of the maladministration assessment in public service delivery. The event was organized by the Representative Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia for North Sumatra Province at the Raja Inal Siregar Hall, North Sumatra Governor's Office, Medan, on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.According to Lom Lom, the event represented an important step in strengthening the commitment of all regional government agencies to improving service quality for the public. He said the Deli Serdang Government continues to encourage its officials to carry out their duties professionally while prioritizing integrity and accountability.
"This event demonstrates the commitment of the Deli Serdang Government to supporting improvements in the quality of public services that are professional, transparent, accountable, and free from maladministration, in order to realize increasingly better services for the community," he said.Lom Lom expressed his hope that all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Deli Serdang Government would continue improving their service delivery systems. He emphasized the importance of enhancing service quality by prioritizing integrity, professionalism, and the ability of government officials to respond to public needs.

Lom Lom explained that public services are not limited only to administrative matters but also involve public trust in the government. For this reason, officials are encouraged to continuously adapt and develop innovations so that services can operate optimally in line with the growing expectations of society.
At the event, North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution also stated that the maladministration assessment was not merely aimed at achieving certain figures or rankings. Instead, he viewed the assessment as a tool for joint evaluation and learning to improve the quality of public services.Bobby said all public service providers must view the assessment process as an opportunity to reflect on their existing work systems. In addition, regional governments and service institutions must strengthen complaint management, improve the competence of officials, and ensure that service standards are consistently implemented.
"These results must become motivation to work better so that the quality of public services in all regencies, cities, and service institutions throughout North Sumatra can continue to improve in a sustainable and balanced manner," Bobby said.Safrida emphasized that challenges in the public service sector are becoming increasingly complex, particularly amid government policies on budget efficiency and limited financial resources. However, this situation should not become an obstacle for service providers to continue delivering the best possible services to the public.
According to her, every institution must be able to create innovations by utilizing available resources. These efforts are necessary to maintain service quality and ensure that the community continues to receive optimal services."The assessment of compliance with public service delivery standards will be carried out from August to November 2026. The results are expected to be announced in December 2026," Safrida said.
She explained that the assessment process covers four main dimensions: input, process, output, and complaint management. In addition, public satisfaction with services provided by public institutions will also be taken into consideration.
Through the opening meeting for the 2026 socialization of maladministration assessment in public service delivery, regional governments and public service institutions across North Sumatra are expected to develop a shared understanding of the importance of preventing maladministration.
The assessment serves as one of the instruments to ensure that public services are carried out according to established standards.
