MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Pertamina Patra Niaga is accelerating the normalization of fuel distribution (BBM) across North Sumatra by ensuring that all distribution infrastructure operates optimally around the clock. The measure is aimed at maintaining fuel availability for the public while simultaneously speeding up the recovery of distribution services to several affected fuel stations (SPBU).
Pertamina Patra Niaga's Director of Downstream Optimization and Distribution, Hari Purnomo, stated that the company continues to ensure the smooth 24-hour operation of the Integrated Terminal Medan Group. In addition, Pertamina Patra Niaga is optimizing operations at the Pematang Siantar Fuel Terminal, Kisaran Fuel Terminal, and Integrated Terminal Lhokseumawe, which are also fully operational to support faster fuel distribution to SPBU across North Sumatra.
"Currently, the BBM stock at the Integrated Terminal Medan Group remains at a safe level. To increase distribution capacity, Pertamina Patra Niaga has expanded its transportation fleet by adding 30 tanker trucks through a spot charter system. These additional units are being deployed specifically to accelerate fuel supplies to SPBU," Hari said.
Pertamina Patra Niaga is also ensuring that service reinforcement at the SPBU level continues. Several fuel stations in affected areas of Medan City are now operating 24 hours a day, allowing the public to maintain easier access to BBM during the ongoing normalization process.
Hari Purnomo explained that distribution strengthening is being carried out not only through optimization of BBM terminals but also by expanding transportation capacity. Pertamina Patra Niaga has increased distribution capability by providing 30 additional tanker trucks under the spot charter system.
The company is also strengthening the role of tanker truck crews (Awak Mobil Tangki/AMT) through Elnusa Petrofin as its transportation partner. Additional personnel support is being provided through cooperation with Bekang TNI to ensure smooth BBM distribution operations in the field.
"We ensure that all distribution infrastructure in North Sumatra operates at maximum capacity. The 24-hour operation of terminals, the expansion of the tanker truck fleet, reinforcement of AMT personnel, and 24-hour SPBU operations are measures taken to accelerate the process so that BBM distribution can return to normal as quickly as possible. At the same time, we continue strengthening coordination with all relevant stakeholders to ensure the distribution process runs smoothly," Hari explained.
According to Hari, all supporting elements of the BBM supply chain continue working to maintain services for the public. Pertamina Patra Niaga also confirmed that fuel stocks are adequately secured, ensuring public demand can be fulfilled during the accelerated normalization process.
Hari further emphasized that there has been no work stoppage carried out by tanker truck crews (AMT). Pertamina Patra Niaga reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining reliable BBM distribution by ensuring all operational activities are conducted in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
"We do not tolerate any violations that could affect distribution reliability or public services. If there are employees proven to have failed to comply with operational procedures and company regulations, the company will take firm action in accordance with the applicable rules," Hari added.
Pertamina Patra Niaga ensures that all employees involved in BBM distribution continue carrying out their responsibilities based on the company's safety and operational standards. These efforts are part of maintaining a stable energy supply for the people of North Sumatra.
To accelerate the normalization of BBM distribution, Pertamina Patra Niaga continues coordinating with regional governments, law enforcement agencies, Hiswana Migas, transportation partners, and other relevant parties.
The coordination aims to ensure that the entire BBM supply chain operates effectively, from stock management at terminals and transportation using tanker trucks to final distribution to the public through official Pertamina SPBU.
