JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COM - Jambi Provincial Police Chief Inspector General of Police (Irjen Pol.) Krisno H. Siregar led the official handover ceremony (Sertijab) and oath-taking ceremony for several senior police officials (PJU) and police chiefs under the jurisdiction of the Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi) on Friday, July 17, 2026.
The ceremony was held in a solemn and dignified atmosphere, featuring a series of official proceedings, including the swearing-in of newly appointed officials, the signing of handover documents, as well as farewell and welcoming ceremonies for outgoing and incoming leaders. The event was attended by Jambi Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General of Police (Brigjen Pol.) Benny Ali, senior officials of Polda Jambi, district police chiefs, and members of the Bhayangkari police women's organization.
The personnel changes are part of the organizational dynamics within the Indonesian National Police (Polri). The rotation aims to support institutional renewal, career development for police officers, and improve the effectiveness of police duties, particularly in providing protection, security, and public services for the community.
As part of the leadership changes, Commissioner of Police (Kombes Pol.) Subandi officially assumed the position of Inspectorate Chief of Polda Jambi (Irwasda Polda Jambi). He replaced Kombes Pol. Jannus Parlindungan Siregar, who was assigned to serve as Irwasda of Papua Regional Police (Polda Papua).
The position of Head of Human Resources Bureau (Karo SDM) of Polda Jambi will now be held by Kombes Pol. Ricko Abdullah Andang Taruna. He replaced Kombes Pol. Handoko, who was promoted to become a Senior Middle-Level I Human Resources Assessor at the Human Resources Staff of the Indonesian National Police (SSDM Polri).
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Dansat Brimob Polda Jambi) was transferred to Kombes Pol. Budi Hidayat, replacing Kombes Pol. Muhammad Faishal Aris.
The position of Jambi City Police Chief (Kapolresta Jambi) was officially handed over to Kombes Pol. Ananto Herlambang, who replaced Kombes Pol. Boy Sutan Binanga Siregar.
In addition, Kombes Pol. Sony Sanjaya was appointed as Head of the Information and Communication Technology Division (Kabid TIK) of Polda Jambi, replacing Kombes Pol. Muhammad Ali Hadinur. The position of Muaro Jambi Police Chief was entrusted to Police Commissioner (AKBP) Bayu Noormansyah, who replaced AKBP Heri Supriawan.
The appointment of new officials to several strategic positions is expected to bring fresh momentum to Polda Jambi's performance, particularly in maintaining security and public order.
Jambi Police Chief Irjen Pol. Krisno H. Siregar, through Polda Jambi Public Relations Head Kombes Pol. Erlan Munaji, stated that leadership rotations are a normal part of organizational development within Polri and are intended to encourage personnel growth while strengthening the institution.
"An official handover is not merely a change of personnel, but also a moment to strengthen organizational unity and create a new spirit to improve the quality of services for the community. We believe the newly appointed leaders can quickly adapt, carry out their responsibilities with integrity, and support the implementation of a precise and modern police force (Polri Presisi) within the jurisdiction of Polda Jambi," said Kombes Erlan.
According to him, the new officials carry significant responsibilities to continue existing programs while developing innovations in addressing various challenges related to security and public services in Jambi.
He also expressed appreciation to the previous officials for their dedication, commitment, and contributions throughout their service period.
"Polda Jambi extends its gratitude to the previous leaders for their dedication, hard work, and contributions during their assignments. At the same time, we congratulate the newly appointed officials and hope they can carry out their duties professionally and loyally to provide the best possible service to the community," said Kombes Erlan.
The leadership change at the Jambi City Police has drawn public attention. Residents hope that the new Kapolresta Jambi, Kombes Pol. Ananto Herlambang, will strengthen efforts to resolve various criminal cases that remain widely discussed.
Lia, a resident of Jambi Timur, expressed hope that the new police chief would pay greater attention to unresolved cases, particularly theft incidents that continue to occur frequently in Jambi City.
"I hope the new Kapolresta, Mr. Herlambang, can solve unresolved cases. Theft cases frequently occur in Jambi, as well as juvenile crime cases. Welcome to Jambi City, Mr. Police Chief," Lia said.
She hopes the new leadership can improve security conditions and provide residents with a stronger sense of safety.
With the appointment of new leaders to several senior positions and police commands within Polda Jambi, the organization is optimistic that police services will become more effective in the future. The new officials are expected to quickly adapt, strengthen cooperation with all community elements, and carry out their duties based on the philosophy of a modern and professional police institution (Polri Presisi).
