MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Governor of North Sumatra, Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution, hopes that the allocation of Regional Transfer Funds (Dana Transfer ke Daerah/TKD) for North Sumatra Province in 2027 will remain at the same level as the allocation provided in 2026. This expectation was conveyed to ensure that the reconstruction process in disaster-affected areas can continue and deliver tangible benefits to the people.
Bobby made the statement during the opening of the Coordination Meeting on Monitoring and Supporting the Utilization of Additional TKD Funds held at the Raja Inal Siregar Hall, North Sumatra Governor's Office, Jalan Diponegoro, Medan, on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
According to Bobby, the impact of disasters that struck in 2025 is still being felt by communities today. The situation has not only created social challenges but has also affected economic activities in several affected regions.
"We hope that the TKD allocation for disaster-affected regions in 2027 will remain at the same level as in 2026. Our hope is that the TKD allocation in 2027 will return to the same amount as 2026 after the funds were previously returned," Bobby said.

Bobby explained that the central government has restored North Sumatra's TKD allocation with a total value of around Rp6 trillion. From this amount, the North Sumatra Provincial Government received approximately Rp1.1 trillion, which will be used to support various rehabilitation programs in disaster-affected areas.
He assured that the North Sumatra Provincial Government is committed to managing the funds transparently and ensuring they are used according to their intended purposes. Bobby also emphasized the regional government's readiness to support the monitoring process for programs financed through the additional funds.
"We are committed to using the allocated TKD funds properly. We are also ready to have the implementation monitored, both now and in the future," he stated.
Bobby called on district and city governments across North Sumatra to maximize the use of the additional budget allocations. The funds should be directed toward programs that provide direct benefits to communities, including infrastructure development and non-physical assistance programs.
In his view, accelerating post-disaster recovery requires cooperation from all levels of government. Therefore, he encouraged district and city administrations to strengthen coordination and collaboration so that the rehabilitation process can progress more quickly.
Bobby stated that the North Sumatra Provincial Government is ready to work together with all district and city governments to accelerate post-disaster development. Such cooperation is essential to ensure communities can quickly feel the benefits of recovery programs being implemented.
He expressed hope that all stakeholders would maintain their commitment in managing the additional TKD funds so that the available resources can truly create positive impacts for affected residents.
Meanwhile, Director General of Regional Financial Development at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Agus Fatoni, said the government has allocated additional TKD funds totaling Rp10.68 trillion for three disaster-affected provinces.
From the additional funding, North Sumatra received an allocation of Rp6.35 trillion, Aceh received Rp1.65 trillion, and West Sumatra received Rp2.63 trillion.
Fatoni appreciated the steps taken by regional leaders who adjusted the 2026 Regional Budget (APBD) through Regional Head Regulations (Perkada). These adjustments were made to facilitate the utilization of additional TKD funds for regional reconstruction needs.

Fatoni urged regional governments to immediately implement the use of additional TKD funds so that the benefits can be directly felt by the public, particularly disaster victims.
He emphasized that rapid program implementation is crucial to prevent delays in the rehabilitation process and ensure that community needs can be addressed promptly.
The Coordination Meeting on Monitoring and Supporting the Utilization of Additional TKD Funds was also attended by Special Advisor to the Minister of Home Affairs for Politics and Media, Kartosius Sinaga; Deputy Governor of North Sumatra, Surya; Acting Regional Secretary of North Sumatra, Sulaiman Harahap; as well as regents and mayors from across North Sumatra.
The North Sumatra Provincial Government, together with district and city administrations, is expected to continue strengthening oversight and ensuring that additional TKD funds are used effectively, appropriately, and in support of accelerating community recovery following disasters. (IDNC)
