Permanent Housing Construction to Be Accelerated

One of the main focuses of the coordination meeting was accelerating support for the construction of permanent housing for people affected by the disasters. The government is pushing to speed up the provision of permanent housing so that affected residents can return to a safe and decent daily life as soon as possible.

The planning and construction of permanent housing are important components of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction. Central and regional governments must ensure that the process is coordinated, from the availability of budget allocations to the implementation of construction work in the field.

For Aceh, several regents and mayors from disaster-affected areas also took part in the meeting. They included the regents of Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Tengah, Aceh Utara, Bener Meriah, Gayo Lues, Pidie and Pidie Jaya, as well as the mayor of Lhokseumawe.

Fadhlullah Calls for Immediate Release of Funds

Following the coordination meeting, Fadhlullah called on all recipients of regional transfers, known as Transfer ke Daerah (TKD), and financial assistance to immediately utilize the allocated funds for disaster response efforts. The instruction was issued in line with a directive from the Minister of Home Affairs.

"I instruct recipients of TKD funds and financial assistance to realize the funds as quickly as possible for disaster response, in accordance with the directive from the Minister of Home Affairs that was conveyed to us," Fadhlullah said.

According to Fadhlullah, accelerating the implementation of budget allocations is an important factor in supporting communities affected by disasters. Regional governments must ensure that funds already available are used according to the needs of the affected population and in compliance with applicable regulations, particularly to support the recovery of people's livelihoods.

The directive is also part of efforts to accelerate various programs aimed at addressing the impact of disasters in Aceh. The Aceh Government continues to coordinate with district and municipal governments as well as the central government so that the needs of affected communities can be met more quickly.

Through cross-sectoral and intergovernmental coordination, the government seeks to ensure that every stage of rehabilitation and reconstruction is implemented in an integrated manner. Cooperation among the central government, the Aceh Government, and district and municipal administrations is also necessary to ensure that budget utilization and program implementation are effective and properly targeted.

The coordination meeting also served as a forum to align policies and measures for addressing the impact of disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. The government called on all relevant institutions to act swiftly in accordance with their respective responsibilities.

Through accelerated budget implementation and strengthened coordination, the government hopes that rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts will bring tangible improvements to affected communities as quickly as possible. The construction of permanent housing and the fulfillment of basic needs are part of the government's efforts to restore and improve people's living conditions.

The coordination meeting underscored the importance of joint cooperation between relevant ministries and regional governments to ensure an integrated response to the consequences of disasters. The Aceh Government also called for all available financial assistance to be utilized as quickly as possible, in accordance with applicable regulations and disaster-response priorities, in the interests of the people.
