DELI SERDANG | INDATANEWS.COM - Rising revenues from the Rural and Urban Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2) in Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, are increasingly showing tangible impacts on accelerating regional development. The Deli Serdang Regency Government ensures that every tax contribution from residents is returned in the form of infrastructure development projects and improvements in the quality of public services.
Deli Serdang Regent, Asri Ludin Tambunan, made the statement during the handover of PBB-P2 tax collection incentives to employees of Percut Sei Tuan District, village administrations, and heads of hamlets (Kepala Dusun) at the Sempali Village Office on Friday, July 10, 2026.During the event, the Regent revealed that PBB-P2 revenue collection in Percut Sei Tuan District had reached approximately Rp63 billion by early July 2026. The figure represents 73 percent of the annual target. The achievement marks a positive development, as the district reached the milestone significantly earlier than in previous years, when a similar level was usually achieved only in October.
According to the Regent, the high level of public compliance in paying taxes has played an important role in strengthening the Regional Government's ability to implement various development programs. Tax revenue is not merely a source of regional income but also serves as an instrument to deliver direct benefits to the community."The tax funds will be returned to the people through development programs and improved public services in Percut Sei Tuan District. When residents fulfill their tax obligations properly, it becomes the government's responsibility to return those contributions through services and development that can be directly felt," he said.
Several completed road improvement projects include the Pasar X–Saentis Village road, Jalan Cinta Damai, and the connecting route between Jalan Pasar II Saentis Village and Tanjung Selamat Village. Meanwhile, the government continues to accelerate several priority projects, including Jalan Paluh Gelombang and the Medan–Bagan Percut border road.
The Regent also highlighted the development of Jalan Padat Karya, which he passed while traveling toward Labuhan Deli District, as part of the government's efforts to improve regional connectivity and transportation access.He emphasized that the increase in tax collection could not be separated from the cooperation of all levels of government, ranging from district officials, village administrations, hamlet heads, to the wider community.
"This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of all levels of district government, village administrations, and hamlet heads together with the community in increasing public awareness and willingness to pay taxes," he stated.The growing awareness among residents in fulfilling their tax responsibilities has become a key factor in accelerating regional development. Therefore, the Regional Government continues to encourage collaboration between authorities and citizens so that development targets can be achieved optimally.
As a form of appreciation for officials who have contributed to increasing tax revenues, the Deli Serdang Regency Government has introduced performance-based collection incentives.
The incentive program is provided to employees who contribute to achieving PBB-P2 revenue targets. Under the leadership of Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan, the incentive scheme has been expanded for the first time to include hamlet heads. The amount received is adjusted according to the achievement of each respective area.The Regent stressed that the incentive was not merely an additional financial benefit but also recognition of the real efforts made by government officials in increasing regional revenue, which will later be returned to the public through development programs.
"It is appropriate that those who participate and play a role in government administration receive appreciation. This reward is not only an incentive but also recognition of concrete efforts to increase regional revenue, whose benefits will return to the community through development," he explained.In addition to handing over the collection incentives, the Regent also paid attention to supporting underprivileged residents. Through the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), the Regional Government distributed assistance to orphans and low-income families as part of efforts to improve social welfare.
The Regional Government also provided cards for funeral service workers (Bilal Jenazah) and cemetery caretakers. The Regent explained that monthly assistance for card recipients would be transferred through their registered bank accounts.During the event, the Regent also presented an Umrah travel package to a funeral service worker named Yub Supendri, who is also the owner of the Khairul Hasanah Tahfiz School located on Jalan Makmur.
"This is a blessing and a divine opportunity. Hopefully, you will continue to do good deeds for the community," he said.
In his address to district officials, village heads, and administrative staff, Regent Asri Ludin Tambunan reaffirmed the Deli Serdang Government's commitment to implementing public services based on the principles of Fast, Transparent, and Easy (CTM – Cepat, Transparan, Mudah).
He instructed all government employees to provide the best possible services to residents and avoid making administrative procedures unnecessarily complicated. The government must ensure that citizens can easily access population documents and other public services."There should no longer be cases where people face difficulties obtaining identity cards (KTP), family cards (KK), birth certificates, or other administrative documents. I will not tolerate illegal charges. Public services must be clean, fast, transparent, and easy so that people can truly feel the changes," he emphasized.
The Regent also highlighted the importance of accurate data in determining development policies. The Deli Serdang Government will conduct comprehensive family data collection through family assistance teams.The data collection will serve as a foundation to ensure that all development programs and government assistance are implemented accurately and reach the people who genuinely need support.
