BANDA ACEH | INDATANEWS.COM - Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf has welcomed the leadership transition within the Aceh Regional Police (Polda Aceh). The new appointment was made after Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo officially swore in Inspector General Pol Ruddi Setiawan at the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The appointment also marked the end of Inspector General Pol Marzuki Ali Basyah's tenure, following his retirement.
Muzakir Manaf views the leadership change as a period of renewal within the Aceh Police, particularly in strengthening public security and order as well as maintaining the region's long-standing peace.
A renewal for Polda Aceh with new ideas to maintain security and public order in Aceh and to preserve peace in the region. Polda Aceh is a partner of the provincial government," Muzakir Manaf said through his spokesperson, Aceh Government official Dr. Nurlis Effendi, on Monday, July 6, 2026, in Banda Aceh.

The leadership transition at Polda Aceh was formally marked by a farewell parade and an official handover ceremony at the Aceh Police Headquarters (Mapolda Aceh). During the event, the "Machdum Cakti" patrol flag was handed over from Inspector General Pol Marzuki Ali Basyah to Inspector General Pol Ruddi Setiawan, symbolizing the official transfer of command.
The ceremonial event marked the conclusion of Marzuki Ali Basyah's service and the beginning of Ruddi Setiawan's leadership as the new head of Polda Aceh. An evening farewell and welcome event was also held to honor both the outgoing and incoming police chiefs.
From the governor's perspective, the Aceh Regional Police plays a crucial role in ensuring security and providing a sense of safety for the public. A stable security environment is considered a key factor in driving economic growth, particularly in attracting investment.
"The economy will grow if Aceh is in a safe and comfortable condition. The business sector is highly dependent on stable conditions in Aceh," Nurlis stated on behalf of Muzakir Manaf.
The governor expressed confidence that Inspector General Pol Ruddi Setiawan is the right figure to lead Polda Aceh in this new phase. His experience and leadership are expected to further strengthen cooperation between the police and the regional government.
"The governor warmly welcomes Mr. Ruddi and invites him to work together in building Aceh in the best possible way. We also extend our gratitude to Mr. Marzuki for the strong legacy he left during his tenure at Polda Aceh," Dr. Nurlis added.
The Aceh Government also underscores the importance of cross-sector collaboration in maintaining stability and advancing regional development. The Pentahelix concept is being promoted as a strategic framework involving government, academia, business, society, and media.
Dr. Nurlis explained that the Pentahelix model serves as a key foundation for effective and sustainable development solutions. The government and police act as regulators and facilitators, academia contributes research and innovation, the business sector provides investment and technology, society actively participates, while the media ensures information dissemination and public education.
"Polda Aceh has performed its duties well and even added value by incorporating local wisdom and aligning national policies with Aceh's Sharia-based values," he said.
Under this spirit of collaboration, the government calls on all elements of society to jointly maintain regional stability. Strong synergy between the regional government and the police is expected to support lasting peace and accelerate development in Aceh. (IDNC)
