LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Government of South Labuhanbatu Regency has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening an effective and integrity-based governance system. In an official ceremony, 43 civil servants were sworn in and formally appointed to various positions within the local administration. The newly appointed officials consist of senior administrators, structural administrators, and supervisory officials.
The appointments are viewed as a strategic step to accelerate bureaucratic reform and improve public services, which are increasingly expected to be professional, transparent, and citizen-oriented.
The ceremony was held on Friday, June 26, 2026, on the first floor of the South Labuhanbatu Regent's Office. The event was led by Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang and attended by several high-ranking officials, including Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro, Speaker of the Regional House of Representatives Ari Winata, Head of the South Labuhanbatu District Attorney's Office Alexander Zaldi, Regional Secretary M. Reza Pahlevi Nasution, as well as representatives of the police and military.
The latest appointments are not merely ceremonial, but part of a broader strategy to strengthen the organizational structure through rotation, transfer, and promotion. All decisions are based on organizational needs, professional competence, integrity, and employee performance evaluations.

In a speech delivered by Deputy Regent Syahdian Purba Siboro on behalf of Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang, it was emphasized that holding a position is not a privilege or a source of power, but a responsibility and commitment to serve the public.
"Rotation, transfer, and promotion are normal processes within an organization. No one should feel permanently secure in a position. Today's civil servants are expected to adapt and deliver real change," the speech stated.
It was further underlined that every promotion is based on objective criteria, including competence, loyalty, dedication, integrity, and performance records. Transfers are considered part of professional development, not a form of sanction.
The regional government aims to build a modern and adaptive bureaucracy. Civil servants are encouraged to foster innovation, accelerate administrative processes, strengthen cross-sector collaboration, and make prompt, people-centered decisions.
The Deputy Regent also emphasized that the success of regional development largely depends on the quality of leadership within government institutions. Newly appointed officials are expected to act as drivers of change and promote an efficient, accountable administration.
A total of 43 officials were appointed to strategic positions within the regional government. Among them are Sahrul Tanjung as Assistant for Government and Social Affairs, Fuadi as Expert Staff for Legal, Political, and Administrative Affairs, Sofyan Hasibuan as Head of the Housing and Settlement Office, and Ahmad Syukri Siregar as Head of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and Fire Department, among others.
The regional government also expressed appreciation for the contributions of previously serving officials, whose experience remains an important part of regional development. At the same time, the administration emphasized the consistent implementation of a merit-based system, where competence and performance serve as the main criteria for placement.
With this organizational restructuring, the regional government expects a new dynamic in public administration that is faster, more transparent, innovative, and closer to the community. The success of governance will be measured not only by structural changes, but also by its tangible impact on the people of South Labuhanbatu. (IDNC)
