LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - The Government of South Labuhanbatu Regency has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening social welfare through a support program for 72 orphans in Perlabian Village, Kampung Rakyat District, on Monday, July 6, 2026.
South Labuhanbatu Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang, SH, personally attended the warm and meaningful event. His presence served as a concrete expression of the regional government's attention and concern for the community, particularly orphaned children who need support, care, and collective solidarity.The event was attended by approximately 1,000 people. The assistance provided to the orphans was not merely a distribution of aid but also an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the government and the community. A sense of togetherness, mutual support, and humanitarian values became the foundation of the entire activity.
The support program for orphans reflects that regional development is not solely focused on infrastructure advancement but also prioritizes social and humanitarian aspects. The South Labuhanbatu Regency Government continues to encourage public awareness and concern for individuals who require special attention and assistance.
In his speech, Regent Fery Sahputra Simatupang expressed his appreciation to all parties who contributed to the success of the event. He extended his gratitude to the organizing committee, donors, community leaders, and residents of Perlabian Village who worked together to make the meaningful social activity possible.According to Fery, supporting orphans is a form of care with significant social and religious values. "Honoring and caring for orphans is a noble act as taught by our religion. Prophet Muhammad SAW also conveyed that those who care for orphans will receive great honor and rewards from Allah SWT. Therefore, we must continue maintaining the spirit of mutual care and sharing within our community," he said.
In addition to providing assistance, Fery also motivated the orphans and encouraged them to remain optimistic about their future. He urged them not to feel inferior because of their circumstances but to continue striving toward achieving a better life.
Fery emphasized that education, religious values, and respect for parents and teachers are important foundations for young people to achieve success.He stated that orphans are an important part of the next generation who will play a significant role in the development of the region and the nation.
"My children, you are the next generation of this nation, the hope of your families, your region, and your country. Never allow your circumstances to discourage you. Continue learning with enthusiasm, perform your prayers, respect your teachers and parents, and keep pursuing your highest dreams. The South Labuhanbatu Government will continue striving to be present and provide attention and support for the welfare of children," Fery stated.Fery also expressed his hope that similar support programs for orphans could continue to be carried out in the future. He believes that social activities of this nature strengthen unity and foster the spirit of mutual assistance within society.
"May every assistance that has been given become a lasting good deed and be rewarded by Allah SWT with blessings, health, prosperity, and ease in all matters.
