BURGLARY CASE SOLVED: Kampung Rakyat Police have successfully solved a house burglary case in Dusun Suka Jadi, Desa Tanjung Medan, and arrested a suspect after nearly two weeks of intensive investigation.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM Police in Kampung Rakyat have successfully solved a house burglary case in Dusun Suka Jadi, Desa Tanjung Medan, Kecamatan Kampung Rakyat, South Labuhanbatu Regency, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old suspect identified by the initials ANP, also known as Andi.

South Labuhanbatu Police Chief AKBP Aditya S.P. Sembiring Muham., S.I.K., through Kampung Rakyat Police Chief AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, S.H., said the arrest was the result of a series of intensive investigations launched immediately after the victim reported the incident.

The burglary took place on May 22, 2026, at approximately 12 p.m. local time. The victim, Banu Permadani, 25, an employee of PT Herfinta Tanjung Medan, discovered the crime after returning home from work.

Victim Lost Jewelry and Cash

Upon arriving home, the victim noticed a crowd gathered in front of his residence. After speaking with local residents, he learned that unknown individuals had allegedly broken into the house.

According to AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis, several valuable items were stolen during the incident, including gold rings, gold bracelets, a gold necklace, and Rp950,000 in cash.

"The victim received information from witnesses at the scene and later confirmed that his house had been burglarized," AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis said on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

Police estimated the total financial loss suffered by the victim at approximately Rp11.15 million.

Following the report, investigators from Kampung Rakyat Police conducted a crime scene examination, questioned witnesses, and pursued multiple leads that eventually led to the identification of the suspected perpetrator.

Intensive Investigation Leads to Arrest

The police investigation yielded significant progress after nearly two weeks of investigative work.

On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at around 12 p.m. local time, officers successfully arrested ANP alias Andi in connection with the burglary.

During the arrest, police seized several items believed to be linked to the crime, including a gold necklace, three titanium bracelets, and two titanium earrings.

Authorities stated that the suspect and all confiscated evidence are currently being held at Kampung Rakyat Police Station for further legal proceedings in accordance with Indonesian law.

Police Urge Public Vigilance Against Crime

AKP Muhammad Ilham Lubis emphasized that the successful resolution of the case reflects the Indonesian National Police's commitment to maintaining public safety and taking firm action against criminal activities.

He also acknowledged the important role played by community members, whose information helped investigators identify and apprehend the suspect.

"We urge residents to remain vigilant against criminal activity in their neighborhoods. Any suspicious activity should be reported immediately through the 110 emergency hotline or the nearest police station so that authorities can respond quickly," AKP Ilham said.

With the case now solved, police hope the outcome will provide justice for the victim, who suffered significant property losses, while also serving as a deterrent to potential offenders. Authorities believe the successful investigation will help strengthen public confidence and improve the sense of security throughout South Labuhanbatu Regency. (IDNC)
