AWARD FOR A SAFE ENVIRONMENT: The Mayor of Jambi receives an award from the Chief of Jambi Regional Police for the successful implementation of the “Kampung Bahagia” program and the maintenance of public order.

JAMBI | INDATANEWS.COMThe Jambi Regional Police (Polda Jambi) reinforced its commitment to maintaining public order and security (Harkamtibmas) by holding the "Sabuk Kamtibmas National Appeal" in Jambi City. The event carried the theme: "Through unity and care, we can create a safe, comfortable, and disturbance-free environment." The ceremony took place on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Jambi City Hall.

The event was officially led by the Chief of the Jambi Regional Police, Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar, and attended by high-ranking officials from the military, local government, and community organizations. Among the participants were Jambi Mayor Dr. dr. H. Maulana, representatives of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), police personnel, local government agencies, youth organizations, religious leaders, traditional institutions, and community figures.

The appeal ceremony was conducted in a solemn atmosphere, featuring the singing of the Indonesian national anthem "Indonesia Raya," a troop inspection, and the reading of the "Sabuk Kamtibmas" national pledge. The pledge was delivered by the head of the Jambi Malay Customary Council, emphasizing shared responsibility in maintaining public safety.

In his address, Inspector General Krisno H. Siregar underlined that the initiative goes beyond a symbolic event. According to him, public security and order cannot be achieved by the police and military alone but require active participation from all elements of society.

"Through Sabuk Kamtibmas, we unite the strength of communities, religious leaders, youth, and security forces to serve as the first line of defense in their respective environments," he stated.

He also emphasized the importance of public trust in state institutions and called for professional, humane, and impartial conduct from security personnel. The police chief further urged residents to remain alert to potential disturbances, including provocations and the spread of misinformation that could trigger social tensions.

Following the ceremony, the Jambi Police awarded the Mayor of Jambi for his contribution to the successful implementation of the "Kampung Bahagia" program and for maintaining stable security conditions in the city.

The event concluded with a group photo session and the signing of a cooperation agreement between participating institutions. According to Police Spokesperson Commissioner Erlan Munaji, the program represents a concrete step to strengthen collaboration between the government, police, military, and the public in curbing crime, including gang activity, drug trafficking, street crime, illegal racing, and the spread of fake news.
