ACEH TENGAH | INDATANEWS.COM - The Narcotics Investigation Unit (Satresnarkoba) of the Aceh Tengah Police has uncovered another cross-regional network involved in the illegal distribution of narcotics. During an investigation that lasted only several hours, officers arrested four suspects and seized several ready-to-distribute packages of methamphetamine along with other pieces of evidence.

The case began on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at around 11.30 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time) in Blang Kolak II Village, Bebesen District, Aceh Tengah Regency. Investigators from the Satresnarkoba took action after receiving information from local residents regarding suspected drug trafficking activities in the area.

During the operation, officers arrested two men identified by the initials AH (31) and SH (33). Police found methamphetamine residue with a gross weight of 0.09 grams, as well as two mobile phones allegedly used to support drug transactions.

Investigation Leads Police to Alleged Supplier

Aceh Tengah Police Chief AKBP Muhamad Taufiq, S.I.K., M.H., through the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit, Iptu Bambang Hari Hermansyah Putra Pelis, S.H., M.H., stated in a written statement issued on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, that investigators immediately conducted further inquiries after questioning the two initial suspects.

From the preliminary questioning, officers obtained information about a man identified by the initials AM, who was allegedly acting as a methamphetamine supplier and was located in Wih Pesam District, Bener Meriah Regency.

"We immediately followed up on this information through further investigation. Within a short time, the team moved to the reported location and uncovered the wider network," said the Head of Satresnarkoba.

The investigative team then proceeded to the identified location. Approximately two hours after the first arrests, officers carried out a raid on a house in Wih Pesam District on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at around 1.30 a.m. WIB.

During the raid, police arrested AM (42), who is suspected of being a dealer. Officers also secured TSF (23), who based on the investigation is believed to have served as a courier within the network.

Police Urge Public to Continue Cooperation

"This discovery reflects the commitment of the Aceh Tengah Police to break the chain of narcotics distribution. We appreciate the active role of residents who provided information and encourage all members of society to continue reporting suspicious activities related to drug abuse or trafficking in their surroundings," he said.

Currently, the four suspects and all confiscated evidence are under the custody of the Satresnarkoba Polres Aceh Tengah for further legal proceedings. Police continue to deepen the investigation to uncover a larger network behind the illegal narcotics trade.

The swift investigative actions demonstrate the seriousness of the Aceh Tengah Police in combating drug abuse and trafficking. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation will continue until all individuals involved in the network are identified and held accountable under the law. (IDNC)
