ACEH BESAR | INDATANEWS.COM - Indonesian Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf visited Aceh Province on Monday, June 8, 2026, as part of a working trip and attended the "Open House Sekolah Rakyat Sentra Darussa'adah" event in Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar Regency. He was accompanied by Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah, who reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to strengthening the central government's inclusive education program.

The event was also attended by Aceh Besar Regent Muharram Idris, MPU Aceh Chairman Tgk. H. Faisal Ali, as well as provincial officials and various stakeholders, highlighting strong coordination between central and regional authorities in advancing education for underprivileged communities.

From early morning, students, parents, and teachers filled the Sekolah Rakyat Sentra Darussa'adah compound, warmly welcoming the ministerial delegation. The large turnout reflected high public expectations for an education initiative aimed at expanding access for children from low-income families.

Strong Government Presence at Darussa'adah Event

The visit marked a significant moment of engagement between the central government and local communities. The presence of senior officials underscored the shared commitment to advancing equitable education across Indonesia, particularly for disadvantaged groups.

Minister Praises Program Implementation Nationwide

In his remarks, Minister Saifullah Yusuf expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the Sekolah Rakyat program across Indonesia, stating that its rollout has been generally on track and aligned with national expectations.

"I am pleased that learning activities in Sekolah Rakyat across Indonesia are running well overall. We hope all stakeholders continue to contribute to the success of this program, as mandated by the President," he said.

He also commended the Aceh provincial government for its strong commitment, noting that Aceh is among the regions actively supporting the program at both provincial and district levels.

Regional Government Pledges Full Support

Aceh Deputy Governor, Fadhlullah, speaking on behalf of the provincial government, expressed gratitude to the central government and President Prabowo Subianto for introducing the program in Aceh.

"On behalf of the Government of Aceh, we thank the President and the Ministry of Social Affairs for bringing Sekolah Rakyat to Aceh. This program is a great help for the community and expands access to education for children from low-income families," he stated.

He added that student development has shown promising progress and reaffirmed the province's continued support to strengthen human resource quality in the region.

Aceh Besar Regent, Muharram Idris, also reiterated the local government's support for the program, emphasizing its tangible benefits, particularly in providing free access to education for underprivileged children. He described the initiative as a strategic effort to improve both educational access and human resource development.

The Sekolah Rakyat program is a government-led initiative in the form of a free boarding school for children from poor and extremely poor families. All costs, including education, accommodation, meals, and healthcare, are fully covered by the state. (IDNC)
