MEDAN | INDATANEWS.COM The City Government of Medan held a solemn ceremony commemorating the 2026 Pancasila Day on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the forecourt of Medan City Hall. The event was attended by civil servants, regional leadership communication forum (Forkopimda) representatives, and other invited guests. Medan Mayor Rico Waas served as the ceremony inspector.

The ceremony opened with an official roll call led by the commander, followed by the raising of the Indonesian national flag, the Red and White (Merah Putih), by the Medan Youth Flag Raising Team (Paskibraka). All participants then observed a moment of silence to honor the nation's heroes.

The Pancasila text was subsequently read aloud by Wong Chun Sen, Chairman of the Medan City Regional House of Representatives, in front of all attendees.

In his address, Mayor Rico Waas read a speech prepared by the Indonesian Agency for Pancasila Ideology Development (BPIP). He emphasized the importance of consistently applying Pancasila values across all aspects of public service and governance.

"Pancasila must be present in our thoughts and actions. It must live in our daily lives and be implemented consistently," Rico Waas stated.

He further stressed that solidarity, justice, and national unity remain essential foundations in delivering public services to the community.
