EXPANDING WOMEN’S HEALTH EARLY DETECTION: Chairwoman of the Labuhanbatu Selatan TP PKK, Indah Fery Simatupang, emphasizes that being named the best IVA test implementation team must serve as momentum to expand early detection efforts for women’s health down to the village level.

LABUHANBATU SELATAN | INDATANEWS.COM - Achievements are not an endpoint. For the Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) team of Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency, being named the best implementation team for the IVA test is instead an encouragement to expand early detection efforts for women's health down to the village level.

This message was at the heart of the event when Chairwoman of the Labuhanbatu Selatan TP PKK, Indah Fery Simatupang, welcomed a supervision and evaluation event held by the North Sumatra Provincial TP PKK on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Torgamba District Head's Office Hall.

The supervision and evaluation provided TP PKK members with an opportunity to review the implementation of programs in the field while identifying various shortcomings that still need to be addressed. The evaluation was not merely about achieving high scores in competitions, but more importantly, about ensuring that every PKK program genuinely benefits families and the wider community.

Indah Fery Simatupang expressed her appreciation for the efforts of all TP PKK cadres, governments at the regency and village levels, and the community, who have worked together to implement various programs aimed at strengthening families.

According to her, the success of a program cannot be achieved through the efforts of a single party. Solidarity, creativity, coordination and the commitment of all cadres are the key foundations for keeping the PKK movement active and responsive to the needs of the community.

"This supervision and evaluation is not only about assessment, but also an opportunity to see what has already been done well and what we still need to improve together," she said.

Village Achievements as the Foundation for Stronger Programs

From the perspective of community empowerment, evaluation plays an important role. Every finding identified in the field can be used to improve work procedures, strengthen cadres' capabilities and ensure that programs do not stop at administrative activities.

The event also recognized several achievements by TP PKK teams at the village level in Labuhanbatu Selatan. Aek Goti Village in Silangkitang District received an award as the best implementation team in the area of child and adolescent education and parenting (Pola Asuh Anak dan Remaja/PAAR).

The achievement demonstrates that the PKK movement is not limited to ceremonial activities. The program also addresses family life, particularly the education and care of children and adolescents, which play an important role in creating a healthy family environment and supporting the development of the younger generation.

Meanwhile, a village in Torgamba District was named the best implementation team for the IVA test. The achievement reflects growing public awareness, particularly among women, of the importance of health examinations and early detection.

For Indah Fery Simatupang, however, success in the IVA test must not end with winning a title. Instead, the achievement should serve as a starting point for strengthening women's health education and encouraging more people to recognize the importance of early examinations.

"This achievement must not be merely a short-term reason for pride. It should motivate us to maintain and expand these good results and share proven practices with other villages," she emphasized.

This message was among the key points raised during the supervision and evaluation. The competition was not merely intended to determine the best village, but to encourage every village to continuously improve its performance and strengthen public health awareness.

With this approach, the success of one village can become an example for other villages across Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency to adopt and further develop. Proven practices should not remain confined to a single area, but should spread and create a broader impact.

Evaluation to Develop Cadres and Administration

Alongside recognizing various achievements, Indah Fery Simatupang also reminded cadres not to overlook existing shortcomings. Administration, cadre quality, activity implementation, documentation, reporting and coordination must all be evaluated together.

According to her, better administration and documentation are essential to ensure that every program can be implemented in an accountable and traceable manner. Activity records can also serve as important organizational documentation for measuring program development and determining the next steps for improvement.

The development of information technology also requires cadres to be adaptable. Technology can be used for data collection, documentation, reporting and disseminating information about activities to the community.

Therefore, TP PKK cadres are expected not only to remain actively involved in the field. They must also be capable of using technology so that the organization's work becomes more effective, faster and more accessible to the public.

The use of technology can also strengthen communication between cadres, the government and the community. Information about health programs, family development, child education and other activities can reach a wider audience when cadres make appropriate use of various communication channels.

For the Labuhanbatu Selatan TP PKK, this development is an important part of efforts to ensure program sustainability. Achievements already attained must be accompanied by improvements in the quality of human resources, administration, services and the organization's ability to adapt to social and technological change.

Sustainable Collaboration from Regency to Village Level

Indah Fery Simatupang hopes that supervision by the North Sumatra Provincial TP PKK will not serve merely as a forum for assessment. In her view, the event also provides an opportunity to strengthen solidarity, coordination and cooperation across all levels of the TP PKK.

Such cooperation must continue progressively from the regency to the districts and down to the villages. Strong coordination makes it easier for every part of the organization to understand its respective role and ensure that family welfare programs meet the needs of the community.

Ultimately, the success of PKK programs is measured by the tangible benefits they provide to the public. The stronger the coordination between cadres and the government, the greater the opportunity for family welfare programs to be implemented sustainably.

"Let us continue moving forward together, strengthen our cooperation and bring tangible benefits to the families and people of Labuhanbatu Selatan," Indah Fery Simatupang said in closing.

The supervision and evaluation of the North Sumatra Provincial TP PKK in Torgamba thus conveyed a broader message. Achievements must generate new momentum and must not exist merely as a record of success in a competition.

The awards as the best implementation team for the IVA test and in the PAAR category are not the final goals, but a foundation for further improving PKK programs at the village level. For Labuhanbatu Selatan, the next challenge is to expand practices that have already proven successful while promptly addressing shortcomings identified during the evaluation.

The achievements can also motivate other villages to develop programs according to the specific characteristics and needs of their communities. In this way, competition between regions does not merely produce winners, but can also generate innovations that benefit a greater number of people.

With cadres who continue to learn, act innovatively and understand the needs of the community, the PKK movement is expected to draw even closer to families. PKK should not only be present at events, but should genuinely become part of the solutions to the diverse needs of the community.

The supervision may have ended and the evaluation may have been completed. However, the commitment to innovation and the dedication to providing tangible benefits to families must continue. For the Labuhanbatu Selatan TP PKK, its achievements so far are a foundation for moving forward and ensuring that the family welfare movement continues to grow down to the village level. (IDNC)
